My Son doesn't want to eat baby food

He was eating it okay until my mother-in-law decided it would be a good idea to stick anything in his mouth the second I turn my back. She gives him beans, soup, suckers, tea, soda, and pretty much anything she has. We have asked her repeatedly to stop but she does not. The problem is that now he does not like the baby food and I can hardly get him to eat any of it. Help? Oh, and he also doesn't eat solids yet either so most regular food is not an option.

I would love to say I have time to mash and blend my own babyfood but I unfortunately just don't. So when my son did this exact same thing, I stumbled on the baby food pouches. They are so great! They have no additives, great mixings and are all organic for about the same price as Gerber. It wasn't the taste that my son didnt like, it was having the freedom to now hold the pouch of baby food and self feed. He refuses to have anything to do with a spoon. We get ours at Central Market. There are several different brands but one off the top of my head is Ellas Kitchen. Now we both win!

I am the same i do not give my lil man the baby food either i make his up in bulk and freeze it. he eats what we eat i know what is in it and it is much better for him in the end.
U should give your mother in law a book on what to feed and what not to feed bub.But in the end she should be abiding by your wishs. But i would try hm on some homemade puree food it maybe time comsuming to make it but u may find that he will eat that for u.

Have you ever ate baby food? It's awful. I never fed that to our kids. I made puree for them from the foods I cooked. At least I knew what was in it and that it was safe to eat.

I saved a fortune feeding them real food. All you need is a blender and home cooked food.

I did not let the kids drink pop when they were babies or anything with caffeine in it. I didn't give them a lot of sugar either. Those are the things you need to tell her are off the list of things your child can have and if she don'[t cooperate then don't leave her alone with your child.

Does your mother-in-law live with you? That`s crazy that she is giving him pop. Is there any way to educate her on what that stuff is doing to him? I am not sure what other advice to give other than just keep asking her not to and keep trying the good stuff. Good luck, it sounds like you have quite the dilemma on your hands.
