Hi Jess,
I'm 20 years old due my first child (a little girl whom we've named Jayna) on the 6th. I know just how you feel! It can be such a scary thing.. I'm one of those people that likes to plan things out and this is one thing I can't plan, it drives me crazy! It's so unpredictable as to how and when it will happen. I'm glad to hear of other women who are as nervous as me! :)

Congratulations!!! I'm due Jan. 29th with my second (girl) I was completely terrified about having my son. I'm not going to lie the Labor Pains do hurt, but after the baby is born the pain goes away instantly. If you choose to have an epidural you don't feel anything until the baby is ready to come out. I was in active labor for 9 and half hours and pushed for 50 minutes. After my son was born i laughed at myself because i was so worried about all the pain i was going to experience, that wasn't nearly as bad as what i thought.

hi, i'm jessica and i'm due january 5th with my 3rd.i had my first when i was 20 and my 2nd when i was 23. i remember when i was having my first i was so nervous all the time. you have every right to be nervous, it's a big thing that you're about to do. but it is so worth it. i've had two all natural births, no pain meds or anything. for me it felt like more pressure than pain. but if you do have a low pain tolerance ask for some meds. that is what the doctors and nurses are there for, to make you feel more comfortable!!! try to stay as calm and relaxed as possible because it will actually make your labor and delivery faster and easier. one thing for sure i can tell you is the first time you hear your baby cry oh my goodness, that will be the most beautiful sound you've ever heard in your entire life. everything you go through that day is worth it, and you won't regret a single thing. the nice thing about this being your baby is ITS YOUR BABY!! if people begin to give you unwanted advice, which they will, all you have to do is thanks but i'm going to do this my way. you will be fine. just wait, as soon as you have your baby your maternal instincts will kick in right away. before you know when your baby cries you will know from the sounds of the cry if it needs to be changed or feed or just held. i always tell everyone that becoming a mother was the best thing that i ever did with my life.

hi im Maree and also 1st time mum, im 24 at the moment and may or may not be 25 when my baby is due (the 19th which is my birthday haha) im from Australia, and i recently went to a pregnancy expo and felt VERY overwhelmed with all the stuff they had there (dont even know how to change a nappy! lol) along with all the other mums that were there who all seemed to be so confident with the questions they were asking the exhibitors. i just have no idea ! am also nervous about the birth...ill be trying for a completely natural birth....one of my main worries (its really silly) is pooing while pushing haha, and also about what the state of my bladder will be after i give birth.

Oh I know what you mean by not letting other people take over. I'm the same way. I mean I'm going to be living at home with my dad so I will get help financially, but it's so scary that I won't be able to pay for everything. I don't even wanna get started on the labor pains either. lol.
