Teething is most likely, but when my guy started doing this a few weeks ago, it was that he was turning himself over and iy would startle him so bad he'd cry out.

hey, my son just started doing that as well ( same age) and not always when he is sleeping. I just hold him... it might be teething pain they don't know how to process.

My little girl has done that a few times now. I asked the child health nurse what it could be and she said it may be teething related. I have just started her on the rice cereal for solids and since then I haven't heard a peep from her at night.

My little girl started this not too long ago but it isn't always at night. I was just thinking it was teething pain. I just pick her up and calm her down and hold her

My baby girl has been doing the same thing! Before she would just sound a little distressed in her sleep and I'd feed her, it would only happen twice in the middle of the night, that's how I knew she was hungry, but now she'll start start crying or screaming and she wakes up more often at night too!

My son also did that for the first time ever on Sunday, he is 4 1/2 months old. He was in a deep sleep and then out of no where he was hysterical screaming like he was in pain, so crazy! I am guessing it is related to his teething since I've read that tends to bother them more during the ngiht.
