Does anyone else have a baby with reflux and they've tried everything... including going to doctors a million times to be told your kid is fine, antacid medications, thickened feeds, gaviscon, infants friend, soy milk, gripe water, etc, sleeping them with their torso up, keeping them upright for 30 minutes after a feed etc. Anyone have any other tips or things they've tried that work?

My little guy has reflux too. He was 10 weeks early and apparently it's common in preemies. We started on Zantac, now we're on Prevacid. He still spits all the time. He's on Alimentum formula. We've tried the cereal to thicken the milk but I figure he will have to outgrow it sometime. He sleeps on a incline, we hold him for 30 minutes and he still spits. Good luck!

My son does. The flap in his tummy doesnt close so he barfs a LOT lol....at first of course i got the "know it alls" telling me i feed him to much. Which i know wasnt true as i have another child who is older and when a baby cries ummmm that means hunger. TONS of friends told me its the reflex problem and that their kids had it too. It was all new to me. My oldest son never had it.

My baby is now 7months and still has it. He can barf up to 2hrs after he has eaten. It doesnt matter what you try it will still happen. I am covered in barf everyday lol..Friends say it goes away between 9-12months. Ugh!

But my son doesnt have projectile vomit which is good but my friends daughter did from this it was scary. My son is a BIG BOY too so he is still getting all his vitamins.

It also doesnt matter if the baby is formula or breast fed it can happen to any baby any time.

My mother had the same problem with my younger sister. It took her multiple doctor's office visits and multiple doctors to finally come up with a problem. My sister would cry almost 24/7 with projectile vomiting and the doctor's would just send her home and tell her she was just a fussy baby. I'm not sure what they ended up giving, if anything, to help out. My sister now has some problems with it at night, but other than that no problems. For the most part, I think it was something she grew out of more so than something she was given. I'm sorry I am no help, I wish you the best of luck trying to get the doctor's convinced that something is indeed wrong.

Both my kids have had reflux. My daughter puked all the time. They put her on Zantac and she still puked, not as bad but still did it. She gained weight fine so the doctors didn't worry and she stopped at 1 year. My son has the painful kind and is on prevacid. He still pukes but the prevacid keeps him from screaming in pain. He is gaining weight slower but still seems healthy. Unfortunately some babies just have reflux and their tummy muscles need to strengthen for it to stop. They typically outgrow it by a year, once they are upright all the time. Good luck

Since my son has been born, he has been a very sicky baby. He was throwing up around 8-13 times a day, sometimes even more.
My doctor kept saying he is fine, even tho I took him to the doctors every week complaining about it.
The gave him Gaviscon, told me to change his milk ect... nothing worked!
He has a intolarance to formula milk, therefor I had to changed him to Soya Milk and Dairy Free Yoguart. Which ever since he has been on Soya his sickness has dropped to 90%.
I have been referred to a Dietist by my Health Visitor and have also been referred to the hospital to check on my son's stomach to fugure out why he is still sick.
My advise would be ask you're health visitor to get in touch with you're doctors and ask he/she to explain what is happening.
I know how hard it is when the doctors don't listen and there only answer is "there fine", but just keep on to them.
I hope you get a answer soon and good luck!

Make sure the bottle is warm enough/food is warm enough. The stomach does not have to work as hard to digest warmer foods.. (so we were told).

The Chiropractor uses this clicky thing on their back that stimulates the nerves and stuff and it helps with their wind and reflux. It's too hard to explain but it does help some people's babies.

I took him to the chiropractor ages ago. I'll have to take him again and see if it helps.

Chiropractor all the way!! When my 7 month old was 8 weeks she was diagnosed with acid reflux. I was bound and determined to not give her medication. The chiropractor helped her and she never had a problem since!!!

I have a silent refluxer, he doesnt puke very often, but was always in a lot of pain during his feeds. He is currently on a med called Losec, which dilutes teh tummy acid, and can stop vomiting. I was personally against giving him the meds, but when we've stopped them he starts screaming on his bottles again. I too have done all that you have, and found he has CMPI as well (cow milk protein intolerance) so he is ALSO now on Soy moving onto a fully hydrolised cow milk formula....not very fun is it.
