We moved Daphne into her own room at 6 months. We wanted to move her @ 3 months, but she was having these sleep episodes that we wanted to have end before we moved her. She loves her room and sleeps a lot better since we moved her. Plus, if we do bring her into our room on a Saturday morning she thinks it's treat. She's 10 months today and I'm thankful it was a smooth transition.

He does now (started at 6 months). My son only slept in our room b/c he was going to have to share a room with his brother. So as soon as he was sleeping through the night we moved him. Our other two children went straight from the hospital to their own rooms.

My son has been in his own room since we brought him home from the hospital. He went straight into his cot, I had a monitor in our room if I needed to hear him and the only time he sleeps with us is if he is sick which is not much..He has only just started sleeping through and he is 9 1/2 months old...

Kamden,
I feel your pain. I am so alert to his every sound that I don't get enough sleep. I can't wait until we can move him out as well.

yes. well let me retracted that statement. 1 out of three of them do. My 4 year old sleeps half the night on the couch the other half in my bed. My 15 month old has slept in her room from the start. and my 3rd sleeps in a pack n play in our room because there is no room for another crib in my 15mo's room. Soon we are getting bunk beds for the two oldest and moving the little on in her own room. Can't wait for the day maybe ill be able to sleep a little more soundly and not wake at her every sound

We coslept (I love First Years' Close and Secure Sleeper--nearly impossible to roll over, etc.) for several months and now she sleeps in her pack-n-play in our room because she is medically fragile and must be woken to feed during the night. Once we can get down to one overnight feed, we'll move her to her crib down the hall. Grace is 9.5 m/o.

I would love to have our 9 mo old in his own room but we don't have that option until we buy a house in March. He has always been in his own crib though and has been sleeping though the night since about 4 months.

I just recently put my daughter in her own room and it was really hard :( but it's for the best to do it before they get too old so I sucked it up and did it lol

At 3 months fully in crib in his own room. When he started teething it was a whole different story so at 8 months til now at 10 months he sleeps with me every couple nights when he's cranky because he's clingy when a tooth is cutting. Most of the time he just needs a booty tap and binky to go back to sleep but other times he's inconsolable so I give in.

My son (2 yrs 9months) has slept in his own room since he was 2 months old. My daughter (9 months) since the second day we were home. The doctor said their was no reason she needed to be in the same room as us. She was sleeping so much like almost all day and night, and I wanted things to be different at night for her. My daughter slept through the night at 2 months and son at 4 months...I think sleeping in their own rooms was a big part of it.

Our daughter has been in her own room since she was about 3 months old. We have a pretty awful mattress and anytime my husband or I move even an inch, the springs creak! So, she was waking up constantly when we had her in a bassinet next to the bed. She sleeps great in her own room.
Jasmine-Ours has been teething as well. Teeth number 5 and 6 are coming in right now. We give her Tylenol when she her mouth is really hurting. The doctor ok'd 0.8mL every 4 hours - and we just get the generic stuff since it's cheaper and Tylenol has been off the market for so long. This helps her sleep through instead of waking up every time her mouth hurts. When she is really upset and won't go to sleep, I skip the teething rings since they get warm so quickly. I put an icecube inside a washcloth and then she sucks on it. It helps to numb her mouth and she likes that she can suck the water out when it starts to melt.

As of recently (I think because he's teething) he keeps waking up every 2/3 hours. Any suggestions on how to get him to sleep through the night again???

nope! my son just turned 9 months today and hes still sharing a room with us! not by choice tho..we cant afford to have him in another room so he is in there with us! totally disrupts his sleep but with no other choice he pretty much sleeps with us in bed seeing how he doesnt want to be in his crib since he knows mommy and daddy are right next to him!

Our son went into his own room right before I went back to work; he was about 4 months old. And he was getting too big for the cradle. That's about the time he started sleeping through the night. Jack is so happy in his crib. I leave him a few toys to entertain himself (nothing he could hurt himself with, of course) and he entertains himself before bed and in the morning if he wakes up before I come to get him.

My daughter has slept in her own room since we came home from the hospital, I have a moniter in my room so if she needs me i can hear her. I think it is the best for baby and the mother long term so you dont end up having a toddler who wont sleep by themselves.

My daughter slept in her own room since she was 3 weeks old. Starting them she slept through the whole night. I think because she couldn't hear me moving in the night and it was quiet for her and us. I slept a lot better with her in her own room as well.

@ Kayla- I don't think that is bad at all. My son has slept in the nursery since he was born. He slept with me probably 4 times but the last time was when he was one month. My great niece, who is 3 months older than my son, has never slept in her own bed let alone in her own room. She won't sleep without someone in the bed with her and often stays up till 11pm or later. She is almost 1 yr. I have to say I am soooooo very glad my son sleeps by himself. The few times he slept with me I got noooooo sleep whatsoever.
