Hello to all :) Well my daughter was born Jan. 6, 2010. She is now 5 1/2 months old and has 2 teething coming in. I guess my question is, are they suppose to spit up ALOT when they are teething? It just seems like everytime I feed her, she just spits it all back up but seems content. Is this normal with teething? Any advice helps :)

How many people find teething tablets helpful and which brand are they using? I am using Highland brand. Not sure if it helps.

Yup, if you think about it, she is drooling alot, and producing more saliva, so she is swallowing a LOT of saliva which fills up her belly and the milk has no room. Try burping more frequently, that may help.

my son got two teeth at 4 1/2 mo. and he did seem to spit up everything he ate. i think his whole appetite changed actually.

but he is back to normal now... so yeah, i think it is from teething.

my twins are teething at 5 months, they been teething since early 4 months. i know there's nothing wrong with that because there's babies that's born with a full set of teeth in their mouth.

My son was born on the 22nd Jan. His two bottom teeth is starting to come out. I also noticed more spitting up (almost everything I fed him with), green poo and boy, crankiness these two days. He has been drooling like a river, pulling ears and biting everything in sight for more than one month.

HI all. My daughter who was born 12th January 2010, is just starting to cut her first tooth. Honestly I didn't think anything of it but I have noticed her spitting up a little more than normal. After reading all these responses, I am relieved that I am not the only one with a child teething at 5 months. I have also been told that 5 months almost 6 months is to early to be getting her teeth.

I have a 6 yr old, an 18 month old and a 5 month old. None of mine have been sick more whilst teething. Maybe your daughter is sore whilst feeding and so she is drinking differently or taking it in differently? Maybe try some teething gel before hand to numb the gums before she feeds so she can't feel them hurting and she should feed normally again.

my daughter is 5 and a half months old and has 2 teeth and she has definitely been spitting up more. i think its mostly because of the amount of drool they have when teething. at least ive noticed she mostly spits up or gags on the drool. But she also has been spitting up milk more too. im not sure why but it seems that it does happen.

yes! my son has just turned 6 months and has two teeth coming through - hes been more sick than usual as well i was paranoid he was ill but hes been fine in his self and its starting to stop now the teeth are almost through. hes also had a bad cold which i heard can be caused by teething. there seems to be a lot of other things caused by teething as well like bad nappies, and earache. its best to trust your judgement and if you think your child is ill then take them to the doctors.

my daughter was born jan 3.2010. and she started teething at 2 and a half months. i believe its normal for them to spit up alot when they are teething only cause they just want something to bit on and they are used to the bottle or whatever and want it more even though their bellys are full. try giving her a frozen face cloth to chew on, it really helps for most kids. i didnt even have to do it with my daughter she just started putting her blanket in her mouth and the face cloth when its bath time.

my Ivana was born on the 16th of Jan 2010... well the doc says she is showing signs of teething but no signs of it making a grand entry yet... my poor baby has been cranky and spitting up alot... the pedi said its normal but i just didnt have the heart to see her cry in pain... i have given her this homeopatic medicine called dentonic... i guess its really helped her since she isnt cranky as much and her spitting up has become much better

I think B is teething, too. She was born on January 27, but was 3 weeks early. I didn't think I'd see teeth yet because she was early, but she is acting like any other 5 month old. She is drooling a lot, spitting up a little, so very fussy, and loves to gnaw on my fingers and her teething toys.

My daughter was born on Jan 27, 2010 she had her 2 bottom teeth coming in at 3mths and broke the skin a week after she turn 4months, they are now about halfway out. My older daughter had her 2bottom teeth out about the same time.

Lots of drool no spitting up and lots of fussing.

My daughter was born Jan 25th and she has cut both her two bottom teeth this week. She would spit up every time after she ate for about a week before, not to mention all the drooling, hand eating, and hair pulling behind her left ear.

Thanks everyone for all your advice. I have come to realize that it is teething. With her having sooo much extra saliva, it contributes to soo much spitting up. She is perfectly fine, no fussing when she does throw up and her poo is alright too. Thanks everyone! :)

I have been told more spitting up, snotty noses , green pops, increases in diaper rash some times even a slight fever are all pretty normal with teething. Teething throughs there digestive tract of a bit. Increased slober, snot and just feeling a little off.

Molly is 5th mths and has had 2 teeth since 41/2 mths.Since the night b4 the 1st came thru she's been a nightmare with feed at times, had runny nappies and very clingy.she has reflux and now she's being weaned easily projectile vomits entire bottles up!!.Teething powders have been fab although have 2 b carefully they don't go directly 2 back of throat coz that makes her bring a full tummy up 2.

Olivia is almost 5 months old and her first tooth just came through. She has been spitting up more, I think it may be because of all the extra saliva they are swallowing. or not, just my guess.

i know what you mean. my son was born 2 days after yours and he's getting two teeth in too. having them spit up is normal. every child is different. you might even notice them getting a little diahria also. but not to worry. when you feed, let her burp every few ounces to help the food settle better in her belly. it helps with my son.

Brenna's been teething for weeks now with nothing to show yet. Runs in my family though. My sibs and I got our first teeth around 3 months! Poor Mom. And my little one also spits up a LOT. If the baby's gaining and growing well and doesn't seem in pain (like crying and getting mad just before or after spitting up) it's not likely anything to be concerned about. Hope this helps!

My daughters two bottom teeth came up about 2 weeks ago, at first I did notice a little extra spit up for a day or two.

All babes are different thou. but as long as she is still gaining weight and doesn't seem hungry more often then normal, you would be surprised how much she really isn't spiting up, it just seems like everything.
