never put anything up their bums cause it causes harm to your baby i know this because with my first baby he was always going to the toilet but the doctors thought they new best and kept doing rectal tempretures on him like twice a day and i told them to stop but they wouldnt listen and with him having health problems when we got back to the UK the doctors here stopped it said if we never got him back to the UK and the german doctors continued he would have died because of it so stop it just do bicycle legs and tummy massage but if you want to hurt your baby and enjoy hearing ur baby in pain then continue doing it but its cruel and can kill

If you want a more natural way of doing it without using juices or changing formulas or going to the doctor...you can always use colic tablets...theyre not just for colic but for constipation too...theyre AMAZING! they have zero side effects and theyre all natural. you can either get them from any chiropractor or CVS and Walmart have them...They were my answer from god lol... i tried everything with my baby and for some reason thats the only thing that worked for him. but all babies are different!

my pediatricians office told me to give my daughter two ounces of just straight baby pear juice and it straightened her right out cause she was eight weeks old at the time. Hope it helps just remember also to massage his tummy.

My grandmother told me to use get the bulb from the hospital fill it with warm water use vaseline and put the water in the butt. This might sound a lil groose but grandmothers always know what their talking about. I did this and before I could fasten the diaper back up it was full. Good luck

My son got really bad constipation when he went from 120ml to 180ml of formula so my mum (who is a Registered Midwife) gave him a belly massage and did some anal stimulation (tickling his bum with a wipe) and that got him to go almost straight away. He's had constipation a few times since then and I just do the belly rub in a C shape, clockwise under his belly button, and that gets his bowels moving along and keeps him happy. All the best.

1/2 oz prune juice. Try once a day and then if that works, keep it up. Or try it twice a day. My DR said up to 1 oz a time.

I bought the constipation liqurd tabs for grown up , my sister just cut a little slice and stuck it up my daughter butt , it worked great.!

My baby had that same problem and the doctor told me that i can give him 1 ounce of apple juice and that seemed to be helping him out alot. At first i thought you shouldn't be giving newborns juice but the doctor said it is ok only if they are constipated

I had a similar problem with my daughter and the child health nurse recommended giving her cool boiled water before each formula feed. But I was doing some reading and one book said that some babies end up constipated from underfeeding. It said that your baby should never drain a bottle. There should always be some left in there. We have been demand feeding ever since I read this and our daughter is having no troubles anymore. Some days it feels like all we do is feed and change her but between 6-8 weeks babies need more food to help them get through their growth spurts.

try vaseline on an earpick and stimulate his bowl movement by inserting it in his rectum and moving it in circular motion every other day, it atually helps my both babies

My son had the same issue. I tried sugar water and it helped a bit. If you use the pediatric suppositories, use only half of one. That is what my doctor suggested, although she also said that a thermometer does the same job. I have changed to the Similac Sensitive formula, and he is much better. Good luck.

i use karo syrup and suppositories and they worked for me. Try a suppoository and it should make them go! Just stick it in the rectal area but not all the way in there and it should do the trick! Wear you some gloves and be prepared for the worse! lol

My son will be two months in 2 days and had a real hard time with constipation. I tried everything but eventually had to take him to the doctor who prescribed pegicol which is like movicol but for babies. The package says not to give it to babies younger than 2 years old but the doctor assured me that it's ok to give him 1/4 of a packet a day. He's been on it for about a week now and doing great, having one good dirty nappy a day. Good luck, I know it's heartbreaking when you can see in how much pain they are. Also, when it gets really bad you can help by inserting a cotton bud with loads of vaseline into his anus. Don't do this too often though as it will make them lazy do push themselves.

Okay so before you give the baby anything besides formula you should first think about changing formula. I would insist on changing to a lactose free formula like similac sensative with iron (its the orange can) I'm using that with my son, and he does really good, I breastfeed as well but he digests the formula quiet well. If not that one than change to a soy based formula, anything lactose free will really help. He might have gas too so Mylicon really helps, their little tummies are trying to digest it all so you just have to try new things with them.

hi there. i had the same problem. i had to change my daughters formula to soy. now she is a lot better. their tummys just cant handle the iron and the soy base is lactose free. I hope it will help you im so happy i tried it cause now my baby is doing better

I had problems with my son with that too. our doctor told us to give him 2 ounces of prune juice a day. It really worked too. yeah it was messy at first but it got alot better. If you do try it, it will be watery at first but it will get better.

My baby's pediatrician told us to give him dark Karo Syrup. 1 Teaspoon to 4oz of formula. It has worked well for him. We just took him off of it the other day...but we were giving it to him twice a day.

hey my daughter has constipation aswell i have got infants friend that works really well and also brown sugar 1teaspoon to 30mls of warm boiled water that works a treat 3 time a day i have seen a really big difference in my girl. good luck i know how u feel
