I'm trying to figure out a good bedtime for my four month old. I've read the earlier the better however when I put him to bed early (7:30) he wakes every thirty minutes or so until 10:30 when he will sleep about four hours if I'm lucky. I'm wondering if I should put him down closer to this later "natural bedtime". Also have a three year old who goes to bed at 8:30 and sleeps till 7 or 8. Sometimes I wonder if getting my older one to bed is disturbing the baby.

Wow, I feel like I have my son on a bizarre schedule. We don't put our 5 month old to bed until about ten thirty, and he sleeps until about 9AM or sometimes even 10:30AM. He has two naps in between, each one lasting two to three hours. My reading shows me that he is sleeping more than average, but I'm not going to keep him awake when he doesn't want to be!! :D

Yes! I'm in same boat! She was a champion sleeper until about a month ago and then all of a sudden her naps and everything. And much like you I thought 9 to 10 PM was way too late so I've slowly been trying earlier bedtimes and it doesn't matter if I start her bedtime at 5:30 or 730 she refuses to go to bed until 9 to 10 anything before that is a nap and she will scream and fight if I try to Keep her in bed!

My daughter Acelyn's nightly routine is as follows : has a bath at around 7pm, then plays for a bit until her cereal at 9pm. Which is followed by a bottle right after her cereal. Then after her bottle is finished (or she doesn't want it anymore), we put her upstairs in her crib. We give her a sucky and a blanket, rub her back and she is usually sleeping by 10:30pm.

Nika goes to bed between 7:00- 8:30, depent's cause she is teething and then sleep until 6:30/8:00 the next moring! I find when there is a crowd at home she battles to fall asleep, usually the night then turns into a nightmare for me, cause she over sitmulated.

My little girl falls asleep around 8-8:30pm and sleeps until 7am. If she does wake up it is because she is thirsty. I give her a bottle and after about five minutes and falls back asleep. She's been sleeping through the night since she was about 3-4 months old :) I'm soooo happy about that!

my son is just about 5 months old but since he was 3 months old he would go to bed at 6pm and either me or my husband would wake him up at 10pm-10:30pm and feed him and put him back to sleep by 11pm and he wont wake up till 9.30am the next morning

My son goes to bed at 7pm every night and is asleep in about 10min. He sleeps through till about 6:30am where I can hear him chatting to himself over the baby monitor. I usually get him up at around 6:45-7am. I love his bedtime as it means my hubby and I can have quality time every night!

I normally put my daughter down no earlier than 8:30pm and she gets up between 7:30 - 8:30am. If I put her down earlier than that even by 30 minutes she wakes up between 3-4am. Not sure what difference 30 minutes makes but, whatever works.

i wish i could keep my little one up that late - he starts getting very niggly and is always asleep before 7. Sometimes he is so tired he goes to sleep at 5 pm and then wakes around 6.30 but when I try to pick him up he just moans so i feed him more and he goes back to sleep for the night. Maybe it is because he doesnt sleep a lot during the rest of the day. what do you do with your babies when you want to make dinner/rest/relax

My almost 5 month son usually goes to sleep between 9pm and 10pm. A nice bath and a relaxing massage usually sends him off! Then wakes to feed at around 12/1am then at 4am, again at 9am and then wakes up at 11am. My partner works in a restaurant so doesn't finish work til late and we ourselves don't go to bed until around 3am, so they way he sleeps is perfect for us. Can you imagine if he wanted to wake up at 7am? We would be so tired!
