I like natural so clove oil or the brand BOIRON( homeopathic medicin, all natural) has stuff for teething. I use the Baby colic, cocyntal they have. She really likes it, its already doest out in little 1ml ampule doeses and the few times I have used it I hold it to her lips squeeze and she sucks it back. My friend with two kids swears by the baby liquid tylenol. And you can try a baby wash cloth wet wring it out good twist it up make a ring put it in the freezer in a ziplock and help him suck and chew on it. People use to use a sliver spoon cus its always cool and they can naw on it. I have a razzberry(brand) teether shaped a bit like a soother but its all silicone handle and all the round bit is bumpy like a raspberry you put it in the freezer and unlike the water filled teether it gets cold but stays soft. My daughter wont have anything to do with a soother but she loves to naw on the leaves handle and raspberry.

My little boy has Sophie the Giraffe, she is the best thing i've ever bought. He loves her, he chews on her legs, neck and horns. she also has a sqeaker in her belly and when we sqeak it his face lights up. Another thing he likes is a bottle of boiled cooled water and he chews on the teat and the coolness of the water soothes his gums

before my daughter got her first tooth at 5 months i gave her a peeled half of an organic carrot. its cold and somewhat sweet and she loved how it felt on her gums. after that i do the tylenol thing once in a while and then frozen teething rings. I also massage her gums when it seems to really hurt her.

i have got am amber bracelet for Aaliyah....wot it is is amber stones threaded to make a bracelet....how its works is that when the stones heat up thru bubs body temp they release a natural healing quality, i dont no wot but it works...my girl would wake at night crying and since i put it on her she's been wonderfull...it cost $20 for the bracelet which she wears on her ankel..and like $39 for a necklace...i got it from a shop called baby on the move....and what i like is that its natural...im not filling her up on harmful products...try it its does work...hope this has helpd

Found a new trick that seems to help :)
I bought my boy a tommee tippee feeder thingy. It has a muslin cloth little sack thing and a handle for him to hold on to. You can put bits of food in the sack and they chew and suck away! I make up his fruit in bulk, puree and freeze in ice cube trays, so he had a pear icecube in his little feeder and absolutely loved it! It made a good mess of his face and hands and bib but the ice-coldness and roughness of the muslin really helped his gums.

On really bad days I have resorted to infant Tylenol. My doctor said it was fine and it's good to relieve the pain for them. I don't do it that often but when nothing else seems to sort him out it helps.

My boys not so fussed on cold things and the gel either. I hated giving him pamol so after putting it off I bought my boy a set of amber beads. I was hugely skeptical, sounds sooo hippy that just wearing beads would magically solve all my boys teething problems but believe it or not there has actually been a difference. He still has the rashy cheeks and mountains of dribble, chews on everything in sight etc but he is much happier. They are not the cheapest thing to buy and havent solved everything as some might claim, but they have certainly taken the edge off. I bought mine from trademe (NZ's equivalent of ebay I guess) as there were brand new sets for a fraction of the price.
My boy also loves chewing on a toothbrush, must feel good on the swollen gums! And it helps keep his emerging tooth and gums nice and clean.

Sophie the Giraffe! I had the same problem and was recommended this teether by loads of people, I was a bit reluctant at first because of the price but when i'd tried everything else I gave in and bought one. It's actually amazing he loves it, it's designed in such a clever way. I definately recommend it. Just type Sophie the Giraffe into Google and you'll find the site.

i started brushing my daughters gums twice a day with a finger tooth brush and some infant tooth paste (optional) and it seemed to help tremendously with her teething. i think it is like a mini massage for her mouth :)
