When should a 3 and a half month old hold herself up?

So so true, Bumbo is great. My son is 4 months and can sit up on his own for a short while but he too loves it because it gives him that sense of confidence. i also think that maybe just also leaving your baby tummy during playtime helps as it encourages them to learn to stabilise themselves and the neck/head.

I agree with all the mums that recommend a BUMBO seat, at is very good for them, also really good for their back. I also used to put my oldest in a door bouncer from the age of about 3 and a half months ( he wasnt jumping of course, but if you use it like a swing, he used to smile his head off :) ) and it seemed to help him a bit to keep his balance when sat up.

Our little one does the same thing. He sits in the Bumbo, but it's so cute, on our bed. He'll sit up by himself but then after 15 seconds, he'll fall back, side, forward, you name it! He just laughs then.

Our son doesn't sit up by himself yet unsupported. I think it all depends.

With lots of tummy time and maybe a Jolly Jumper, baby's strengthen their legs, and backs to be able to support themselves.. She will sit up as soon as shes ready, attempt to prop her up against pillows, under supervision at all times.. See how long before she starts to tilt.. Those bamboo and bumbo seats are really good..

not to aroud 5 or 6 months but you can help her with a bumbo or the boppy seat that will help with the learning the bumbo works the best

is okay- he will get it. mine has always had a strong head. I tried the pillows yesterday and she did very good. she seemed to like it and I guess its because she is not just laying around lol

My baby is 4 months and a week and he can't yet. Well he can sit up in the bumbo!! He tries so hard to but he just falls over haha!

My daughter is 4 months old today. She sits in her BUMBO alot. It works wonders. I am going to try sitting her with some pillows for support.

Yeah all babies are different so don't worry too much. I was a little worried about my bub cos she doesn't like to hold her head up for long, my doctor said not to worry but that by her 6month check up she should be sitting up without assistance. I don't have a bumbo but have heard they are really good!

I'm a first time mother too and i started sitting my son supported by pillows at 3 months. Now that he's 4 months old he is actually trying to lift himself up off his back to sit and is halfway there. Give her time.

my 4 month old still has trouble sitting up she'll get her self sitting up alone around 41/2 5 mos dont trip

I agree with Haleana, the Bumbo is FANTASTIC and will help baby strengthen the muscles they need to sit up by themselves. I don't know what I'd do without mine. They even make little trays that fasten to them! :)

Hi, my baby is 14 weeks and 6 days and will sit up if I loosely support him. We've recently purchased a Bumbo (don't worry about the recall, it was only because people were using them as babysitters and leaving their babies in them on high surfaces). The Bumbo is excellent and allows baby to sit up and hold things and leaves you to play with your baby and hold toys out for them. I've found that it's really helped with my sons' core stability and his grasping. I highly recommend them.

she sit up anywhere from 4 month to 9 months. it depends on the baby. don't worry about the babies milestones. all babies are different and will do it in their own time. enjoy your baby while she isn't mobile. i have a 5 year old as well as a 3 1/2 month old and with my oldest i wanted her to do everything early but never realized how fast she grew up and how i missed her being a baby. don't hold her back but enjoy her being a baby b/c before u know it she will be all grown up

Start sitting her up more often now that she is older, lots of tummy time and play time. With my son When he is sitting on my lap, I put his legs out infront of him and lay my hand over his thighs against his belly, applying a little pressure to his thighs. Then I lean back a little so there is some space behind his back (not supported by my tummy). This exercise helps babies strengthen their core muscles and helps then learn to sit. This is the technique taught to me by a couple I know, I did it with my daughter and we had success. Already my son is starting to become more sturdy...
