My daughter is almost 8 months when is a good idea to start giving her meat? the meat that comes in jars looks digusting so i wont be giving her that.

I make my own baby food, bc i feel that all baby food in jars looks disgusting:) My baby food cook book reccomends starting chicken and turkey at about 6-7 months, but I hadn't really decided how, beyond giving him a piece or two to try. Thanks kim for your suggestion, I will try that!

The early meat isn't going to be cute, but my doctor said to go ahead and start giving it. We are going to try chicken and beef soon. My son has already had both salmon and halibut - I squish up little pieces between my fingers. He loves fish. But for those meats, I would go with the baby food for now.

6mths our boy had his first feed of meat. Yea it does look gross, kind of catfood-ish, and doesnt look much better home made and pureed. I mix some pureed mince with a bit of gravy, carrots and potatos... it goes down a treat.

My daughter has been eating chicken that can easily shred for about a month now and she also really likes fish.

I started my son on meat when he was 6 months old...cooked chicken put it in the blender with chicken broth and he LOVED it..i do it with turkey and roast beef as well...

I started giving Olivia meat when she was jusnt under 7months an she loves it so perhaps try now with a little chicken, the only thing she doesnt like is mince cos its a little bitty in the mouth
