MOST HELPFUL POSTS

casey and i go to a few baby groups, things we learnt that we do at home are:
*bubbles - buy a bubble machine
*sing nursery rhymes especially those that have actions - humpty dumpty sat on a wall, incey wincey spider, round and round the garden like a teddy bear. i also sit casey towards me and i go side to side with my legs singing, 'smooth road, smooth road, smooth road' then i bounce him on my knee side to side and say 'bumpy road bumpy road bumpy road' and then lastly i shout 'pothole' and i let him fall inbetween my legs - he giggles so much!
*wooden or plastic building blocks - they love knocking them over once you help build a tower
*plastic ball pools
*space blacket - we bought this at the camping shop and cost next to nothing. its very large so cut it into squares. its shiny and crinkly and is by far the best 'toy' i take it everywhere with us
*any kitchen utensils - plastic spoons, spatulas, sieve, fill a netting bag with different types of uncooked pasta so they can feel the textures from the outside of bag, make sure the bag it tied tight though. also fill an empty small water bottle with rice and shake it - the noise is great!
*join a library - is there one nearby you can walk to. Casey loves soft books but most of the time they land up over his head and we land up playing 'peek a boo'
hope this helps - have fun!!!
