I've considered buying the "Your Baby Can Read" but I've read mixed reviews and not to mention its pretty pricey. Has anyone had any luck with the Baby Einstein videos? My son is almost 7 months old and started with mama dada and quit. He loves watching the Baby Einstein dvds, I just wondered if any other parents noticed increased talking after watching the movies.

I just bought my first Baby Einstein DVD for my 7 month old son, so we will see how he likes it! Just a suggestion...look on Ebay for the DVDs. I LOVE Ebay & I bought this DVD for under 6 or 7 bucks (I cant remember). It's used, but in excellent condition. :)

My little boy is almost 7 months. I put him in his high chair in front of the tv to watch baby einstein at least 3-4 times a week and I haven't noticed an increase in his vocabulary or anything. I wasn't expecting it to really make a difference in his achievements, but I knew it was something to keep him busy and at the same time it is educational. My baby loves it! The different scenes are colorful and very stimulating. He laughs at it, and his eyes are always glued to the tv. I usually put it on for him before a nap or bedtime. It gives us mommies a little break =)

My daughter loves the hand puppets in the baby einstein DVDs. Everytime they come out, she gets very excited and starts bouncing up and down. I know is quite pricey, but what you can do is buy the whole set instead of purchasing 1 DVD at a time. It's much more cost effective that way. Normally a single DVD here is $30 (Australian). I bought the whole set of baby einstein DVDs (26 DVD Box Set) for only $90. That's soooo much money saved to buy other baby stuff.
And as we all know, baby stuff arn't cheap. (Retailers/manufactures sure knows how to make money).

My daughter loves her baby einstein videos as well. She will babble talk through the whole thing. No actually words yet, but she is still fairly young. My sister also bought the videos for her son and he was saying a few words by one year, now (hes 2) he speaks so well, and has learned so many things from the videos. My sister is proud of him and gives alot of the credit to baby einstein. Even if your baby doesnt become an einstein because of the videos, I still feel that it is nice for them to watch!

My two year old loves baby einstein and I started him at a young age and now he is my little chatter box and he has amazing vocabulary. We also read to him so I'm sure that they both had a great input.
