I gained 50 lbs during my pregnancy, lost most of it at once but i am still sitting (literally!) on the last 15 lbs! Just wondering if anyone else is having trouble losing the last little bit, and also what was successful for those who have lost it all!

I gained about 25 lbs for both of my pregnancies. With the first one, I was able to go back to the gym regularly by the time she was 3 months old (husband was home a lot). It took me a full 9 months to get my abs and muscle tone back to where it was before being pregnant... but then I got pregnant again. With baby #2 I'm about 5 lbs more than my pre-pregnancy weight, but I wouldn't trust what the scale says. I know I've lost a lot of muscle mass and much of what was muscle is now fat... so although it's 5lbs on the scale, it's probably a lot more than that. I was a little disheartened this time around because there's no time to go to the gym with two kids, but I figure I'll eventually get back into it. I was in a rush before to lose all of the weight in preparation for my second pregnancy, but this time it'll definitely take longer to get the weight off.

I have been back in my pre-pregnancy jeans for a little over two months, I gained about 50lbs, and have lost all of it, I am also breastfeeding. My son weighed 10lbs 4oz when he was born, so that helped too! I certainly have a greater respect for my body now!

Yes, I can fit into pre-pregnancy stuff. lost most of the weight in the first couple months. Only thing is that my body seems to have shifted where the weight is - i weigh the same as before pregnancy but i seem to have more definition in some cases. Weird. I say good excuse to go clothes shopping.

i'm not sure what i weighed before i got pregnant. My old pants fit me though. Not that I've ever been a featherweight. I only gain baby weight when i'm pregnant, so when 'the pennster' was born I was immediately 20 pounds lighter than what i was the day before. and i put on my old jeans, BAM. . . no worries ladies.

Even if you don't fit into your old stuff, don't worry MY GOD! You all just had babies! it'll come off, and if it doesn't well. . . you all just had babies! must i re-iterate . . . I can tell you all my boobs will never be the same again, once i stop breastfeeding i'm sure they'll look like a couple of oranges in socks. . . but eh, meh i have three kids what can i do??
maybe dr 90210 will give me a freebie?
it's all good

I guess I am one of the lucky ones! When I had my little girl I had only gained about 5 pounds because of bad morning sickness the first 14-15 weeks! I ended up loosing 25 pounds at my 6 week checkup. So I am down 20 pounds from where I began at! My jeans are all to big and I have to constantly pull them up LOL...but I don't money to buy new ones yet....

I gained 20 kg during my pregnancy and thanks to breast feeding I only have about 2 or 3 kg to go! because the bf takes a lot out of you I have been eating as much as I did while I was pregnant but still losing the weight which is fantastic! the weight loss has really slowed down now but I hope it still slowly comes off. put some skinny leg jeans on last night from pre pregs and the button did up however I had really bad muffin tops! I suppose our bodies will never be the same again and we'll have to give her bodys time to go back in!

I think there is only a small percentage of women who actually retain the same body and go right back into their jeans within a short period of time after having a baby. I'm jealous of those women lol I gained 35lbs during pregnancy and lost most of it right after. 5months later, I only have 5lbs to go before I am back to my pre-baby weight. As far as the size of my jeans, I can wear my jeans from before but I can't button most of them still. I just wear a belt with everything to cover up my undone button haha On the other hand, I really want to tone everything up but stretch marks did a number on me too. Its like I want to show off my fabulous body but those little lines are so unattractive even though I know they're little badges of honor and reminders of the miracle I brought into the world. Regardless, don't stress out about the last little bit. They say if it took 9months to put on, it'll take 9months to take it off!

I have 5 more lbs to go, I gained 43 lbs during my pregnancy, but I breastfeed exclusively and the weight has been dropping, thank goodness! Good luck getting the last few lbs off, I'm one size bigger than my pre-pregnancy size. It seems like the last few take forever lol!

Breastfeeding is by far the best weight loss plan out there. :) I didn't gain much with my twins (born Sept 14th), partly because I was still breastfeeding my almost 2 year old, and partly because I've always had a hard time gaining weight (and no, I'm not a vegetarian... I was eating 100+ grams of protein every day, with a lot of red meat to help get an extra iron boost). I carried my twins to 39weeks6days and they were 6lbs15oz and 6lbs12oz (which is average for my babies). I was back into pre-pregnancy (and pre-children) jeans by the first week of October.

I only gained 15 lbs. this pregnancy - the perks of being pregnant when you have a toddler, I guess! so it was pretty easy to lose and I was back in my prepreggo clothes within about a month. But, I gained close to 50 lbs. with my first pregnancy and I still haven't lost all that weight. Since I'm breastfeeding, it's hard to diet, so I have been trying to eat more healthy and exercise more. The exercise is on hold for a few weeks though because I just had surgery, so I'm expecting to gain some weight back. :(

I can say I don't fit into my pre pregnancy pants. I actually went down two sizes from them, I lost all my pregnancy weight in the first two weeks. It is supposed to take you six plus months to go back to what you wore before you got pregnant. According to professionals. But trust me when your child starts crawling and getting into things you will be getting your exercise so you will loss the rest.

I haven't tried them yet but I just hit my prepregnancy weight today after five months. I managed to keep the weight gain to about 22 pounds or so during pregnancy so it wasn't too bad. They did pump me so full of fluid during 30 hours of labour and a c-section that I actually weighed more when I arrived home after 4 days than I did the morning that labour started! Needless to say the water loss that first week was pretty dramatic...

I had gained a bit of weight even before becoming pregnant over and above my normal base weight due to sinful halloween candy in the month or so before so I am not quite back to my normal pre-pregnancy weight yet. About another 8 to 10 pounds to go. Sigh. Slowly but surely it is coming off now that the holidays are over with.

I am a bigger girl so I worked really hard not to gain weight while pregnant and by doing that I taught myself how to eat right and only gained 14lbs during the pregnant. Even with that I was so scared to try on my old jeans from before I was pregnant and it took me 4 weeks to try. When I finally did they slipped on with extra room, I was so surprised. 5 months later I am down a full size from before I got pregnant. I am going to try to keep going, and have since bought a treadmill and have been using that everyday and cannot wait for the Spring weather to take my little guy for walks. My goal is to go down another 2 sizes.

I gained 35 lbs with my daughter, a lot of it was baby weight and extra fluids. I lost a ton of weight when I gave birth and was able to get into my pre-pregnancy jeans right away. I have continued to lose weight with breastfeeding and moderate exercise. I have hit a plateau right now and can't seem to shed the last 10 lbs. I started tracking my calories and eating healthier. So hopefully I can lose those last 10 lbs before summer gets here! Good luck to everyone else!!

I gained 22 lbs with my Madi, born sept 24, and lost it all and then some about 3 days after having her. She was 9 lbs and 2 ounces and I breast feed. So it got knocked off pretty quick!

I lost 15lbs in the begining of my pregnancy from morning sickness. So during pregnancy, I gained that 15lbs back, plus 10 extra pounds. So I was only 10lbs above my prepregnancy weight. At 2wks pp, I had lost 20lbs! But slowly gained 13lbs back :(. A lot of it is stress and not eating consistantly (I eat more in the evenings), plus I have suffer from hypothyroidism, and have been struggling with the levels since giving birth. If my levels aren't leveled, I gain weight, even if I am exercising and eating right. So, I am not back in my prepregnancy jeans yet. She is my 3rd baby.

I gained 70 pounds when I was pregnant! All but 30 came off right away. My daughter is now 5 months old and I'm still struggling with the last 20 pounds! I know what I need to do to lose the weight, it's just so hard to find the time and energy. I'm trying not to get frustrated. It took 9 months to put it on, right?

I've been able to fasten my dickies for about a month now. I gained 40+ lbs and am mostly back to normal now, except for bigger boobs and my twin pouch. Unfortunately, I think lack of time for food and sleep has been a factor in my weight loss.
But since free time doesn't exist for moms, use your bubs for exercise. Sometimes you can do yoga with them during playtime, and its like having an evergrowing, adorable freeweight. I pretty much always have a baby in-arm or in-sling wherever I go, and I don't think my arms have ever looked better. lol

Eating right and loosing weight are such great goals for anyone!! I definitely need to do better at it. I just have to say though, that some women can regain their pre-preggo body no problem, some can with much effort, and some may never. Every pregnancy is different and every woman's body is different. Even if you lose every last ounce doesn't mean that your jeans are going to fit like before.

I gained 43 pounds in my pregnancy and i only have about 7 more to pounds to loose to get back to my pregnancy weight, but the thing is i don't look like it at all! i went from a size 1 to a 5 (being a little big) i'm only 4ft 10 so i don't have anywhere for anything to go since i have such a short torso, my belly is all loose skin because i got so big and it looks like i've got a little pooch and i don't think ill ever be able to get rid of it i've been doing crunches and eating right too =( and my hips are also still wide, and some people have told me they never go back.

Same issue here and I'm a dance teacher and have been back at work since he was 5 weeks. I gained 40 lbs. and I have 10 left. I still fit into my jeans pre-prego but I can't wait for it to be warm so I can take the baby jogger out.

I only gained 14 pounds with my pregnancy, just baby weight. My doctor, baby and I were fine. I'm vegetarian, but I ate! I lost almost all the weight when Penny was born but still had a pooch. Then just through pumping (couldn't breastfeed) I lost an additional 6 pounds. I maintained that throughout the holidays, and last week I decided to change my eating a little and I lost 5 pounds in one week. I basically switched to whole wheats, more fruits and veggies and I only drink water and decaf tea (sometimes I drink juice.) I love my dairy, so I can't cut that out. Plus I started doing some light calisthenics/stretching. 30 lunges, 30 arm circles, and I touch my toes 30 times. A sample breakfast: 2 whole wheat waffles (frozen), with one teaspoon of pumpkin butter on each, and a banana with decaf Earl Grey with a splash of milk, and a teaspoon and half of sugar. Lunch- 5 Veggie slices (Turkey flavor), 1 Slice of Cheddar flavored Soy Cheese, 12 Wheat thins, a handful of baby carrots and an organic strawberry yogurt. Dinner- Spinach salad with dried cranberries and olive oil, and a pasta, OR a breakfast burrito on a wheat tortilla with breakfast potatoes. I love breakfast for dinner. Good luck, you'll do it :)

I'm wearing one size larger than before I got pregnant. I just keep telling myself that it took nine months to put it on, it's going to take at least that long to take it all off! As a nurse and former personal trainer, the best you can do is what I told all my former clients...try to eat lots of veggies and fruits with good quality proteins and complex carbs. Good luck!
