I have taken a bath with my daughter since she was about 3 weeks old and she absolutely loves it! She kicks and "swims" and splashes. Just make sure that you have all of both her stuff and your stuff before you get in the tub. I have found that it is easiest to put your baby in a bouncy chair, then get in the tub and then pick her up. Then when your finished bathing wrap her up in a towel and then place her back in the bouncy chair and get yourself all dried off. It is a blast and my daughter loves it :)

We've done it since she was NB. When she was really little i would lay her down on the surface of the water and hold just her head. The rest of her body would float, i'd sway her back and forth and she loved kicking and floating. Now that she's older we still do it, but she is more splashy. It's tough right now cause she wants to sit up but shes not quite there yet. I've also taken her to the pool a couple of times!

My oldest son hated the bath when he was tiny - we didn't have a baby bathtub and he was so tiny, we bathed him in our roaster pan! And then tried the sink, but he hated them both. So I just filled up the tub and took him in with me and he loved it. Totally relaxed. The only thing was that with my bare breasts right there, he figured he should be nursing, and then he'd spit up in the tub, which was kind of gross! I usually ended up taking a shower afterwards! But it was a great way to get him bathed!
I usually did it when dh was home so I could pass him to his dad while I finished washing myself up, but the bouncy chair works too.

When we had our kairi bear, and since i'd already had my older 2 girls from my first marriage,so i got tubby and shower time with them, I put her in the tub with her daddy once the water cooled down enough for her. She was about 2 or 3 weeks old at the time. I just got her nakey, cause her bath night was that night too, and popped in on her daddy. The look on his face was the big 'OMG what are you doing'.. then..' gimme a towel to cover up my parts first at least!" He was not comfortable being in the tub with his baby girl, but he enjoyed it anyways..and the memory warms my heart still, and breaks it too.

Totally it is so nice and since your sitting in there with them... Well i find anyway, I feel more secure holding him, and he likes the skin on skin that happens. Plus at this age they start making a mess, so in the tub they can kick like crazy and you don't have to clean up afterwards! And you can get daddy to help too, just pass the baby to him to wrap all cozy when your finished!

Oh my goodness I say go for it! I've been wanting to take mine in the bath with me, but I'm chicken, what if I drop her or something? Slippery lil boogers. It seems like it would be much easier and less messy?? She loves splashing and my kitchen gets bombed with every bath!

Sure you can! It's great just lay her on your chest and relax. Just make sure you have all the shit ready for when you get out. For yourself and her. your robe or what have you
otherwise you'll get cold dressing her.
