Abby and I shower together. And if she needs a bath and I'm not getting in the shower, I put her in the sink. We have a stand up shower so I just let her play with her ducks at the bottom of the shower.

My son never liked the infant bath so I always bathed with him from 1 month (a little after he lost his umbilical) I still bathe with him once in a while but for the most part he loves to take a bath by himself and crawl around a splash. :)

We use the big tub with no more than 4-5 inches of water and HAVE to use a wash cloth or hand towel under her for her to sit on. This keeps her from slipping around all over the place. She loves it. I sat with her in there until 7 months, and for the last 3 months she's loved it and not slipped once. I still keep my hand at the ready though in case she were to lean back. She also just likes to lay in there on her back and splash like crazy. :)

My son has grown out of the infant tub too. We most often do the kitchen sink..although it makes quite a mess, but he has a blast and it isn't like I can't clean up a little water! I am hoping to pick up a mat for the bottom of the tub so he will sit without slipping in there, but we do occasionally put him in there. As long as he has toys to play with, he isn't interested in crawling around. Good luck. My son used to hate bath time, now he cries when I take him out because he loves the water!

From about 5 weeks old, I found it easier to bathe my son in the family bath. I have a non slip mat in there, so he can lay down and fill a couple of inches of water, so as to not cover his face. It's the easiest way I found as with the baby bath, I had so much trouble holding him up, this way I have both hands free!

I'm waiting for my son to grow fins and gills. I always bathed him with his infant tub in the big tub. Once he got to where he wanted to climb out of it, I just removed the infant tub. He loves it....now if I can just get him to sit on his bottom instead of wanting to crawl and chase toys lol

My son is almost 11 months old. He outgrew his baby bath - so I bought a bath seat to put in the tub. It is the BEST! I wasn't going to get anything but he refuses to sit down - so I was nervous that he would slip and hurt himself in the regular tub. (Even with me holding him - he is very squirmy and wet hands - doesn't equal a safe situation). With the seat he stays sitting - and can lean over and play with his toy and splash the water. I love it. And he never even tries to stand. The only downside is that it's hard to reach his front to wash - so I just leave that for the end - then pull the front of the seat down and wash - then take him out. I would recommend this for any infant/toddler in between stages.

H gets in the big tub by himself and has for the last few months. Occassionally we do a quick bath in the baby tub, but mostly use the big tub. We are dealing with the standing up in the tub part now, but keep him distracted with lots of toys. He loves the water!

My son is 10 months - born 09/07 - and I have a 2 year old son as well. I just put them both in the tub together, and have been doing that since Zach was about 7 months old and could sit up well. He loves being in the tub with his brother. His brother gets a little rowdy sometimes, so I have to watch them carefully, but he's learning. Our only issue is that Zach likes to stand up in the tub now!

Any water time is exciting for Jaycen, he comes running to the sound of the shower/bath being turned on and cries if you don't share it with him.

My oldest is 3 & my youngest is 10 months & I put them in the bath tub together. I let my 3 yr old shower w/ me then when I'm done she wants to take a bubble bath. I tried putting my 10 month old in the shower but she didn't like it. I used a baby tub w/ her until she could sit up on her own & she started to crawl out of it. She has almost out grown the kitchen sink, she is almost too tall for it. I went to Target & bought one of the inflatable Munchin Duck bathtubs that I put the youngest one in & sit it in the bottom of the tub & she likes it. My oldest tries to get in there w/ her but she's too big for it. LOL! Either I put the little one in the duck tub or in the big tub & stay in the bathroom with them while they play.

I use the Bumbo seat on the floor in the shower with me. It's the best & quickest way for me. I also have a 2 1/2 yr. old & the three of us shower together. I hold & wash the baby for part of the time, set him in the Bumbo seat & give him a toy for the rest of the time while I wash my toddler & myself. I can wash most of the baby while he's safely sitting in the seat. I just have to wash the bottom area while I'm holding him. He loves the shower & doesn't mind the water splashing him at all...

My daughter has always cried during a bath. I've tried different things, but using an inflatable tub that is shaped like a duck kind of helped. It feels soft and not so hard and not so cold like a bathtub. She likes that the duck quacks, but as soon as I start the water she cries. She didn't like getting into a swimming pool either. I have no idea how to get her to feel better about water. I've tried everything.

Big Tub. Went from the sink to the big bath tub!!! My son LOVES it, he sits up and splashes, then crawls around, then sits back up and splashes. It is probably his favorite time of the day. If he is in a bad mood, give him a bath :) I do not bath with him, but I might as well with how wet I get, me and his 5 year old brother like to just sit outside the tub, and play with him. He is very good at keeping his balance, but I always have my hands super close to catch him if he accidentally slips (He can NOT stand being on his back in the water, it freaks him out)

We fill up the big tub just so that her legs are covered and put her in. I am there with her in case she tries to stand, but most of the time she stays seated or crawls a bit to get a toy. I tell her to stay on her knees or bottom. She loves it!

My daughter takes a bath in the tub with nothing in it except for a bunch of toys. I keep the water low enough so that she can crawl around easily. We also have a mat down in the bottom that keeps her from slipping. We've never had any problems.
She has eczema so we only wash her with soap every 3 nights (otherwise it's just a wipe down with a washcloth) but on those nights I get in with her, it's just easier.

My son is nearlly 11months, he went from bath bath to big bath at 6mths in a bath ring. when he could sit up by himself probally, the bath ring went but I found he was slipping alot, so I got a Thomas the tank bath mat from baby bunting to stop him slipping. He has a gr8 time in the bath sitting up himself and he has now started crawling in there too.

We out grew the infant tub about 3 months ago. He was a little wobbly in the tub at first but now he is more confident and tries to stand up and climb out. He loves taking a bath a playing in the water. I just make sure I stay right with him and only use about 2 inches of water. Occasionally I will put him in the tub with me but since the water has to be deeper he is less stable.

My baby has been sitting up in the bathtub for months. He slips around so I kneel at the edge of the tub at ALL times. He has fallen forward once when going for a toy so I have been very glad that I was there!
Also, my son lays down on his back and splashes - he LOVES his bath time. I have heard and used that the water should not be above your child's belly button - that is a good rule of thumb for where they can fall and get their own head up and out of the water!!!

love the tub ring, but in the sink my son tries to climb out - tonight i tried bringing him in the shower which i thought would freak him out, but he LOVED it. my older son (same as the baby) had a phase where he HATED the bath, but i just kept them short and sweet (since no way were we giving up part of the nighttime routine) and they got over it and enjoyed the bath again. Piece of advice - NO tub toys that will squirt water, they never dry out, and can hold yucky germs (esp fecal bacteria if you bathe in the bathroom - EW!)

My daughter, Sophie, (10 months) loves the bath. If the bathroom door is open, she usually crawls in there, stands up against the bath and gets very excited! If she knows she's having a bath, she gets even more excited and can't wait to get in! She has a bath with her older sister (almost 3) and they have a ball!! We have a non-slip mat in the bath for Sophie which is good, cos if we have too much water in the bath, she starts to float away a bit! She loves being splashed and even having water poured on her head. She's very much a water baby! She's been in the big bath since she was about 4 months.

My son outgrew the infant tub fairly quickly. When we first transitioned to the big tub he would have bath time with my husband or myself. As he grew stronger & could hold himself up better he went in alone. He is now 10 mths & loves bath time in the kitchen sink (although his harder to get him squeeky clean in there). He also bathes in the big tub & quite often sits on the floor of the shower (shower head pointed far against the opposite wall so he doesn't get it in the face). My guy is very inquisitive & strong willed, so I have to watch him like a hawk every time he bathes. Sitting & playing/splashing just isn't so much fun anymore. Now he has to stand up & look around or pull the plug. He's had a few slips & falls this way.

My bub loved splashing around so much in the plastic table top baby bath that he got very frustrated at about 8 weeks..... he was hitting his head and kicking the end of the bath. We bought a toweling wire framed hammock type thing that sits in the bottom of the big bath and they lay in. I kept him in that til he could sit up. Then took it out and just held onto him for a week or 2 til he could sit comfortably on his own. He does slip around a little bit but I am always there to grab him and stop his face hitting the water. The freedom has given him alot of confidence in the water.....he LOVES his baths and always has. Glad we did it the way we have.

I should add that my son bathed in his baby tub once.. maybe.. it was way too awkward! nowhere to put it, i didn't have enough counter space, and putting it in the bathtub would kill my back, as well as just placing it on the floor, (not to mention making a huge mess!) I do have a little.. wedge-shaped.. mesh thing, that you can lay immobile babies on, it is at a 30ish degree incline, so baby's head can stay out of the water, and i used that before kiddo could sit upright at all, even in the tub seat, which he would slouch!

Hello, For about 2-3 months now i have changed bathtime up. My little one grew too big for his infant tub. I was walking through Walmart one day and found an inflatable rubber ducky tub. I picked it up right away it was only $10.00 and it has been awesome. With my little one's infant tub i was worried about him throwing his head back and hitting it on the hard plastic surface, but with the new inflatable rubber ducky he doesn't hurt his head when he goes back and forth. He seems to love it too. It also makes a quacking noise when you squeeze it's bill. Way too cute..:)

My 10m old has been having a shower since he was 2m old and he was in the baby bath up untill a few weeks ago. I had it in our big bath.. Now hes in the BIG bath he loves it, Ive put a slip sheet down in the bath so he wont slip about.. Im not sure if thats what they are called (its a plastic sheet with suction cups on the bottom so it doesnt move) He has lots of toys and sometimes bubbles.. The only thing I want to get is a cover for the water spout.. I get very worried he will bash his head on it..
If he tries to stand I just say NOOOOO we sit down in the bath and put him back down, and if he keeps doing it he gets out.. Hes quite good and dosnt do it to much, but he LOOOOVES to splash which is soooo funny!!..

It's hilarious when he has more than 2 toys cause he tries to grab the other ones and looses the ones in his hands, then goes after the original , and it just keeps going on like this till he can't see the extra toy.

I used to just fill it a little and he would lay down in it and kick his feet! now he enjoys sitting up on a bath mat and playing with his toys. Sometimes he accidently puts his face in the water but it doesn't seem to bother him! He also enjoys a shower.

My son is 10 months old now and normally loves his bath time. We use his infant tub inside the big tub so he gets to splash a lot and make a mess yet he is still confined. He loves it! My Mom still likes to give him a quick bath in the sink sometimes. Bath toys are a plus! I haven't taken a bath with him yet but want to try it and see his face.
