When i make the bottle and shake it the bottle seems to leak everytime no matter how well i have the nipple and top on, i am really sick of this and about to toss all of the bottles i have and buy a different brand. Does anyone else have the same issue?

I have the same problem and I have tried everything to get them to stop leaking. I hate Avent bottles and only have one becasue someone gave it to me as a baby gift. I use Dr. Brown bottles. I love them!!! I have used them with all three of my children and wouldnt pay money for anything else. They are a little more expensive but I think they are worth it. Plus if you have a baby with reflux they are one of the best brands to help with that.

yes! i had the same issue at first i thought it was the bottle(i had gained some from my elder sister who has a 2 yr old) but even when i bought new bottle they would leak too, i just went and bought some tommie tippie bottles and they work wonders, they are also skinnier so my lil boy can start learning to hold his own bottle.

I had the same experiences but like Andrea said, if you pull the nipple really tight it seems to be better. I just switched to the Born Free bottles which I LOVE!!

I had the same problem, I always took out the nipple and put it back in and pulled it really tight, that fixed the problem most of the time...but yes it's very annoying!

I HATED avent bottles. I bought the colic ones when I was pregnant and only used them a week. The leaked so bad. It seemed like if you got the lid on too tight or not tight enough, they leaked. I could never get it to NOT leak! I was so mad considering the colic ones are 20 bucks for 2!

Avent Bottles are fantastic. If you read the inserts they recommend that you replace the teats every month, (you obviously can use them longer but that when you end up with little hiccups like a leaking bottle)

I have the avent bottles, but find only the older teats leak, it is as if the seal isn't as good on them. xx

Yes mine leak sometimes too. Mine seem to leak when I've made them up with boiling water then put the lid on too quickly without letting them cool down a bit and the steam escape. Huge nuisance when they leak all in your bag! However, my son is now used to them and to be honest it doesn't happen every day, just very irritating when it does!

And one more - the collar, bottle collar and the nipple have to be dry. But usually the reason is that it is on too tightly.

I would not throw them away!! Bottles are too expensive just for a little spilled milk!! Mine have leaked on and off, the tracks just need to be aligned coreectly. Unscrewing it, and screwing it back on always for us!

I used Avent bottles with my oldest daughter. EVERY time I would shake the bottle, they would leak. When I would feed her, they would leak. They are absolutely TERRIBLE!! When I switched bottle brands, it was great!! When I had my twins, Avent products were banned from my house! :)

What i found, was that the bottles my partner prepared leaked and the ones that i prepared didn't. . . so i opened the top a little. . . that is to say they tend to leak when screwed on too tight. See if that helps hercules.

we did too, but found that it needs to be completly clean, then twist on till you hear a sqish, hard, then its on and wont leak, we also do an upside down test before we shake.

My Avent bottles leak if they lay on their side for too long. Which doesn't bode well if they tip over on the way to day care! But I've never had that problem when shaking them.

i have both avent and bron free... i prefer the avent. yes they leak if you screw the cap on too tightly or not tight enough... lol... you have to find a happy medium. once you do- you'll looove them too.

I have had that same problem occasionally, and I have to take off the lid and rescrew it on. I also use the platex drop ins system which I like because of the convience, but my husband hates them because he had a liner full of formula drop out of the bottom of the bottle. I think all of bottles have some sort of issue at one point or another.

Mine leak too, I have tried everything and They seem to still leak and my 5 month old, Trenton gets wet when he holds the bottle. I swithched over to Nuk bottles, he already preferred the pacifier from Nuk and the bottles are so much easier to use and alot less expensive!! :)

i found that mines were leakin too, i asked my sister in-law and she said it had happened with her too. she had asked her health visitor about it and she had suggested that it was bein screwed to tightly. i now dont over tighten them and have so far not had more problems.. (touch wood, lol)

When I was pregnant I asked a few friends which bottles were the best and so many friends told me they loved their advent bottles for everything other than they leak when you prepare them. I decided to go with dr. browns and have had no issues. Love my Dr. Browns. If this is your first and plan to have more, maybe new bottles would be a good investment.

I have used avent bottles with both my girls and yes sometimes they do leak but i just unscrewed the lid and checked the teat was pulled out far enough and re-screw on. sometimes it may just not have been screwed on evenly and i shake with lid on now although if want you could put finger over teat when shaking.
