My little brother has it really bad and i noticed my daughter has signs of it too.... I spoke with my mom on it and she has been using Aveeno and Cortizone 10 intensive healing ...She told me to try it on my little one and so far so good....

Aww poor baby my son was get the same thing your expirencing all over his face I took him to the dr to get it checked out he told me to use hydrocortizone 1% and it has helped it go away instantly but it does come back from time to time they said its something he'll have to grow out of but if not then they can prescribe me something you should check with your pediatrician..I hope you can find him some relief asap because it does break your heart to see your child in pain and discomfort :(

My mom swears by Emu oil. She had psoriasis and it cleared it up. This can also heal ezcema, burns, cuts and scrapes, skin infections. I think you can order it online.

My son is also 5 months old and has bad ezcema, the pediatrician recommended for us to use the vasaline creamy which is in the jar, and i've sure noticed a difference. I apply it at least 3 times a day all over. I also have a cool mist humidifier in his room, have changed detergent to an all natural product with no fragrance and don't use a dryer sheet. Also i take probiotics, so he gets some of it as i'm breastfeeding. I know how frustrating it cause, because you feel so bad for them as their unable to tell you how uncomfortable they are. Thanks so much for all your comments. I have stopped eating anything with dairy in it as I am breastfeeding. Tomorrow we are going for blood tests to see what he is allergic to. I have also had blood tests done to see if im allergic to anything and they say if I am then chances are that he might be. Haven't got the results yet.

Have changed his washing powder and now just bought a soya based formula for when he is at school.

I dont recognise any of the creams you have all mentioned. I am in South Africa, not sure whether you can get them here.

Where do your babies get the ezcema? Joshy has it on the back of his legs and on his back. Not in the normal places that most babies get it - the creases of the arms or legs. Will hopefully get positive results from the blood tests. Dreading having them done. Shame he is so small to be having blood taken.

Have you checked for allergies? Are you breastfeeding? Do you use a mild detergent?

hi my wee one is 5mnths also and we are having a terrible time of it with the same problem , its such a shame i have been prescribed lots of diff things to use i have varied products for his bath , creams and lotions to be applied daily and also steriod creams for when it really flares up but nothing is working at all , we are now been referred to a specialist at yorkhill childrens hospital so hopefully they will help.



it is not nice to see and you feel so helpless, im sorry i cant suggest anything but if i get any help from the hosp that actually works i will let you all know x

My son had ezcema, right out of the NICU. I use cetaphil for bathing and for lotion. hey have a pump lotion that is thin. They also have a thick cream. They are good for preemies because they are fragrance free. I also got hydocotisone with aloe for extreme areas. I since using for a month I never see any break outs. The cetaphil is a little pricy but the baby is so small, a little goes a long way!

my 6 yr old has had it since he was a baby. the best lotion for it is eucerine cream in the "tub" its thicker than in the tubes.. you sure its ezcema and not psorisis? ok i know i didnt spell that right. lol. i have heard that aquaphor works really well too.. oatmeal baths too. literally put regular oatmeal in a bath with some warm water.. it will soothe his skin..

Hydrocortisone cream is helpful when it gets bad, Aquaphor and Aveeno Baby Soothing Relief creme work well but you have to keep up with it, at least twice a day.

Food for thought, both of my kids eczema started to clear up once I started to suspect a milk protein allergy and phased out dairy. I started Rice Milk in my toddler's sippy cup, and for my daughter I started avoiding dairy myself so she wouldn't get it in the breastmilk, and when I supplement her I have switched to hypoallergenic formula.

My 5 month old has a mild case, and weirdly enough only on his face. I use Aveeno lotion for adults and I put in on about 5 times a day. It doesn't make it go away but it gives him relief. He scratches his face and tears it open from time to time which breaks my heart. I have to keep his nails trimmed real short. When it get real bad I put Desitin on it at bed time and cover his hands so he can't dig in it. When I do that it seem to be a lot better in the morning. You may need to consult a dermatologist. If you can't find a cure or at least a treatment on your own.
