We'll be taking our son to his first baseball game at Busch Stadium in June, he'll be 9 months then, and we're looking for any tips or suggestions on how to make this fun for all and not stressful. We've been told taking a backpack carrier, instead of a stroller, works great because you can also use it standing up for your baby to sit in instead of having to hold them all 9 innings. Ideas?

We took our son, he's 7 months to his first baseball game Opening Day of the White Sox and he loved it! Yes, take a backpack carrier instead of a stroller, it so much easier. Make sure you have food for him, a hat and sunglasses. Don't forget the sunscreen. Have FUN and go Cards!

If you see this, leave this form field blank.

When we get to our seats we usually take him out of the carrier so he's not confined. You'll be fine.

My son does great when we're out and around people so I'm not concerned about that. I just don't want to get stuck being uncomfortable holding a 20+ pound baby the entire game. I'll definitely be getting a backpack carrier. I always have a hat for him and keep sunscreen in his diaper bag too so we're good there. Still working on the sunglasses though. :-P

Hi Adrienne, if you're worries about him been agitated because of the noise and people, try to bring some toys he favours. Especially the ones that can attach to things so it will entertain him if he gets bored. Ususally if you bring along things that will distract their attention, then he won't be focusing on the fact that they're at a strange place with so many people and which means you get to watch the game :)

Hope this helps. Because usually when we go out shopping, my daughter gets quite bored and frustrated because she has to sit in her pram. So I always bring along a few toys which keeps her happy. Otherwise, she'll want me to pick her up all the time.
