From soy formula to cow's milk

I've never heard of soy milk for AR. My daughter is breastfed (never had a drop of formula) and will not be going to cow's milk because for one, she is severaly allergic to diary. She was diagnosed with AR at 2months old but once I stoped all diary products in my diet, her AR stoped. So she really wasn't spitting up due to AR. Just be careful. If she has any signs of vomiting with cows milk, stop immediatly and ask a doctor.

my little girl has been on soy since day one. and she is on cows milk now, and she didnt have any problem making the move from sow to cows milk. at first she didnt like the taste of cows milk so we mixed her soy formula and cows milk toghter and she drank it fine.

My son (who is now 2 1/2 yrs old) was on soy formula (for acid reflux) and when he turned 1 yr old he started drinking cows milk with no problems. He still loves it to this day! When my daughter (11 mths old), who is also on soy formula, turns 1 yr old she will be drinking cows milk also.

Soy formula because of acid reflux? I've never heard of that? Did you doctor suggest it? I think there are SO many misconceptions and WAY too many differing opinions.



Cow's milk is recommended but considering your "unique" circumstances I would probably consult with whoever told you to put your daughter on soy formula in the first place.



I'm not a fan of soy products and I think you have to be extremely careful with cow's milk. Without knowing a bit more about your situation I can't comment any further.

i am about to have the same issue, my son has been on soy formula since 6 mths. Does she like cheese, ice cream and other dairy foods without issues? My son will have everything except some adult yourts and some custards with out being sick or runny bum, but between bottles i am now giving him cold milk in a sipper cup and he seems to fine on this so i think it has to be a gradual introduction with the soy one feed and cows milk another so thier systems get use to it. start with a sipper cup for a week, then try one cows milk bottle a day for a week, then if that is going ok add two bottles the next and kepp trying that until they are all cows milk, but if thhheir is any reaction extend it out or get soy milk for bub to try. But i know from exprience it is a weening thing even for bubs on normal formula otherwise they get sore bellies too. Good luck.
