Good Family Cars?

I don't know everything, and our Hyundai Elantra is a little small for expanding the family, but I recommend at least looking into Hyundai. They are reasonably priced, and you get a lot of bang for your buck!

I think we're also lookinng at the Chrysler Town and Country, the Dodge Caravan, and the VW Routan in addition to the Odyssey and Sienna. Any thoughts?

Oh, we also have a LARGE labrador - who could easily lay on the floor in front of the kids carseats (i mean that the 2nd row of seats wasn't CRAMMED into the back of the driver/passenger seats)

Honda Odyssey - awesome room. Push button to open the side door is a MUST - so handy when trying to put little ones in (especially if its raining.) I also loved that the 3rd row of seats could be folded down into the floor or it could be flipped to be rear facing - great for drive in movies or kids sporting events!! (I don't know if the new ones have this feature but the 2004 did)

We have a Honda Odyssey and I love it! I will admit, I did not do too much shopping around when we purchased it because my grandparents had one and I already had my heart set on the Honda. Haven't found much of anything that I don't like about it. Things I LOVE - very roomy inside, button to open middle row doors in front seat as well as on the key fob (very nice when you have full hands!), middle row of seats has the option to have three seat row or remove extra seat to have more walkway to back row - you can even choose to have the two seats in the middle close to the doors with a pathway inbetween (which is what we do now since I have 2 in carseats) depending on where you put the seats. There is tons of cupholders and cubbies for anything you would need to keep in your car, including in-floor storage in the middle row. The trunk space is pretty great, too...I currently have in the back a double stroller, 3 bag-style lawn chairs, a moderate sized rubbermaid tote with my emergency car equipment and another similar sized tote with my Church teaching supplies...to go grocery shopping, I have to remove the stroller, though :). The back seats fold down super easily, and with them down and the middle row removed, my husband was able to haul drywall and building supplies for our remodeling ventures. It also has built in retractable sunshades in the middle row windows, silly, but then you don't have to bother with those suction cup ones. It did take some serious getting used to to drive it, but my old car was a Civic, so it was a serious size change!

my parents have a dodge minivan, and it's absolutely wonderful - we can fit 4 adults, baby & carseat, 2 dogs, stroller, and luggage in it! my husband refuses to get a minivan because they're not "cool" enough. what a guy! we have a mazda 6 sport wagon (as if station wagons are cooler than minivans! ha!) and we love it! we can jam so much into the back, and you just can't beat any vehicle with a hatch so you can open in and toss things in!

My brother in law has a Traverse and we have a Kia Sedona Van. We also have a 120lb dog. The Traverse would never fit the baby, the dog, stroller, and whatever else you need for the baby. Our van has room for it all. Sit in them and try to envision everything in there. That is what sold me.

Well we recently purchased a GMC Acadia, I had done a lot of reasearch and I knew we needed more space. IT IS GREAT. I don't feel like I am driving a bus and it is the perfect size and has lots of space. 3rd Row seating is key! Also we got leather for easy clean up and for course DVD for entertainment. I ABSOLUTLY LOVE IT!
