Hair and teeth - is there a connection, an old wives tale?!

My bub is 8 1/2 mths, got her first 2 teeth at 5mths, followed by her next one at 7, then another at 7 1/2, then 2 more at 8 mths. She is now getting another 2. She isn't completely bald, but I wouldn't say she's got alot of hair lol....

My daughter was born with very little hair. She's 8 months old now and has a full head of hair but it's still pretty short. It sticks up on one side!! My MIL says she may have a double crown.
Any ways, she still has NO teeth! No signs of any coming in soon.

My guy was born with hair, but most of it fell out except at the crown. Now he's got a bit of hair, and 6 teeth at almost 8 months...I see this post was started about a month ago...so I wonder what progress folks have made since then.

my son was born on the 21 of september and he had so much hair! (i've already had to give him a hair cut).... but he just got two front bottom teeth in last week, was when they just broke through.... but there still slowly coming up!...

My daughter is 7 1/2 months old... and has 6 teeth (bottom two and top four). And I'm sure she's in the process of getting two more.

My daughter was born with minimal hair... and she got her first tooth, at 3 1/2 months old. She now has a little bit of hair. lol.

Well, average first tooth is 7 months. My son was born with a full head of hair. He is almost 7.5 months and I can see his white teeth through his gums but they have not popped through yet.

My son has a good amount of hair and has already lost the hair he was born with and got more hair in....See profile pic :) and no teeth yet......may daughter who is now 4yrs old had hair at birth as well and lost it...cut her first at 9months and was bald until about 14months old.........

Sharla, my son had a full head of hair (and still does) and I haven't seen a tooth yet either. Not sure if its connected but his cousin had no hair when he was born and has five teeth and they are just two weeks apart.

My daughter was born with a dusting of hair which is now thicker in the front than anywhere else. She cut her first tooth just before she turned 6 months old.

My sister-in-law's daughter was born with a full head of hair and got her first tooth just before she turned 8 months old.

i have a son ( 71/2mths) and he was born with a full head of hair. hasn't lost any of it. he cut his first 2 teeth at 4 mths and now has 6 altogether, with 2 more on the way.

I realy don't believe in old wives tales.Each child is unique and develops at his or her own pase.My daughter is 7months,born on 24/09 with a head full of curls and does not have any teeth yet.It doesn't bother me because she is fast with alot of other things.

hehehe I like the legends :) i do not think this is true my child has little hair and he had his 1st tooth @ 7 month ....but my best friend's child had full hair and his 1st tooth appeared when he was still 6 ... so do not worry when their teeth are ready then they will come ... :) but i LOVED the legend LOL

MY son Hunter is seven months old, was born with a FULL head of hair, and has two bottom teeth. He got them at six months.

My daughter London was born with a full head of hair and it has only gotten fuller since then. She is 7 1/2 months old and no teeth yet either. :) I have never heard of that old wives tale, but it kind of makes me feel better... even if it isn't true. ha!

My daughter was born with a full set of hair...it's not even funny cause now she's 8 months and her hair is so all over the place meaning unmanagable! However her first two bottom teeth broke through a week after she turned 5 months! Oh and I was exclusively nursing until she was 6.5 months! And now for the past 3 days her top teeth broke through.
Honestly I have never even heard of that wives tale!

my daughter started teething at 8 weeks but cut her first tooth at 5 months ans has cut one every month so she now has 3 teeth at 7 months, and she has next to no hair, i have tried stimulating it but the it wont grow... hope this helps

my son is 7 months and is bald he also has no teeth as yet lol i have all the troubled signs with rosey cheeks and yucky poos, screaming fits all of a sudden and chewing on anything and everything he can get near his mouth. im not sure how true the tale is. my first son was also bald and had his first 4 teeth by 6 months.

Well Liam had minimal hair on his head (some on his back though) when he was born and cut his first tooth at 4 months and now at 7 1/2 months has six well grown in teeth two on the bottom and four on the top, so I would say it is pretty true

My son has plenty of hair and his first tooth stared to peek through at 5 months. At 7 months, he has about 3 looking like they are coming soon. He has only breastfed. I think every baby is just different and grow on their own time.

My son has peach fuzz and 1 tooth at 7.5months old. My friends baby is 8 months and full head of hair since the day he was born and already 4 teeth. I don't think the tale means anything...every baby is different.

I think its just a myth...My daughter was born with a full head of hair...i mean lots of it..i was able to put ponytails in her at about 2 1/2 months....and she has 2 front teeth. the 2 top ones are half way out too. She grew her first teeth at about 4 months....So yeah i think its just that a wives tale.

never heard of this before, but both my kids prove it. My 1st had teeth at 3 months and no hair until 2 years. My second is 7 months with 5 teeth and barely a skiff of hair!

My daughter was born with very little hair and she was 5 months old when she got her 2 bottom teeth she is 7 months now and her hair is gradually growing but very slowly she is teething really bad and i thing she has another 2 teeth coming through, i dont really believe in old wives tales because another one is if you suffer really badly with heartburn when your pregnant its supposed to mean your baby will have a full head of hair, i suffered really badly and yet my little one had hardly any.
