My daughter is 19 months old and sleeps 12 hrs a night and takes a 2-3 hr nap everyday. I'm curious to know what other toddlers are doing in respect to sleep because sometimes I feel like this is ALOT of sleep and possibly too much? I dunno she seems like she needs it and I don't force it on her so ...

You are all so lucky! My son will sleep 10 hrs at night but he wakes up at least twice, maybe an hour nap. Every so often he won't go to sleep after the first night wake-up so we are up at 11p, those days he will take a good nap. Any disturbance in his life- teeth, rash, cold... he doesn't sleep. And he has always been a fitful sleeper :(

My 19 month old son never used to sleep very much (7 hours at night, 2 hours nap). Now he is sleeping 10 hours at night and 2-3 hours during the day. I think it is because he is run, run, run now and needs more sleep to recover from the more exhausting forms of play...??? Either way, I am liking the change!

Hi, Ava sleeps about 13+ hours a night and then will nap anywhere between 2-4 hours a day. I have no idea how mummies do it when their kids don't nap. I need my midday nap just as much as Ava does, lol : )

When my daughter was 19 months old, she would sleep around that amount also. I asked her doctor and she said that when they sleep they are growing. So their body knows how much sleep they need. She is now almost two and has gone from three naps to one and still sleeps all through the night and some in the morning.

My daughter sleeps 12 hours at night and then takes 2 naps during the day for about 2 hours each. I am always so shocked that she sleeps this much! I guess she loves sleep. Sometimes she only takes one and she will sleep for 3 or 3 1/2 hours! I have no trouble getting her to go to sleep but it could be because I have always had her on a schedule.

My little girl slept 9-11 hours from night to morning, 3-4 hours after waking up she would sleep 1-2 hours then , then around 5-6 hours later she would sleep about 30 minutes to an hour! but we're on second shift schedule.

My son sleeps 10-12 hours at night and a 1-3 hour nap during the day. Toddlers need a lot of sleep still, I have always been told to just let them sleep.

My daughter goes to sleep around 7pm and wakes up around 7 am, so 12 hours, and then takes 2 naps during the day, in the morning usually 2 hours and in the afternoon between 1 and 2 hours.

Honestly, don't know when he wakes up, he plays in his crib until about 9-9:30 ish because if I go in earlier, he usually has a really off day, but that's about 13 hours as he goes to bed at 8. He can sleep any where from 30 mins to 3-4 hours. Honestly, not positive again, as I use to have to wake him up to take my husband lunch or pick him up from work. And my son tends to like to play in his crib by himself a lot.

Y son is 20 momths. He sleeps between 11 and 11.5 hours at night. At he takes a nap during the day that lasts anywhere between 1 and 3 hours, depending on the day. Sometimes, i feel like i should wake him up. But i dont because i dont thonk thats too much sleep. They will only sleep when theyre tired so they obviously need it. :)

My son sleeps 10 hrs but tends to wake up like every 2-3hrs for like 5-10 minutes then goes right back to sleep, he takes 2hrs naps during the day. He wakes up more now at night then when he was a newborn.

My daughter will be 20 months on May 24th and sleeps 12 hours a night and takes about a 2.5 hr nap normally and many children i have been a nanny for have slept that much too. If my daughter goes to the park in the morning or we do something very active her naps can even be longer, as long as your not having problems with your child going to bed at night I wouldn't worry about it. It's completely normal and take advantage of it now because my 4 year old won.t takr naps anymore.

My 20 month old sleeps about the same as your daughter, 10-12 hours at night, and usually a 3 hour nap everyday. He used to take only a 2 hour nap, but just recently started sleeping 3 hours, sometimes 3 1/2, and I go wake him up at that point. I've read (and been told by the Ped.) that toddlers need a lot of sleep, so I let him. :)
