I have a baby scale at home. I purchased it because I was scared my daughter wasn't getting enough breastmilk & gaining enough weight to begin with.... Well that's not the case now! I am actually getting worried she may weigh to much She weighed in at 19lb dressed this morning and she will be 5 months on the 9th of Feb. She is a Breastfed baby who has been on Gerber baby Rice cereal since 3 months and Barley at 4 now almost 5 months she's started on Stage 1 Green Beans She doesn't eat that much she usually drinks 4-5 oz every 3-4 hrs and for Lunch a stage one green bean container then no more than 1/4 cup (a serving) Rice or Barley cereal mixed with Breastmilk before bed! Anyone else have a 5 month old 19 pounder I mean another montha nd I am going to have to buy her a new carseat!

Thank you so much for posting this! My daughter weighed 13lbs 4 oz at her 4 month check up and now, at 5 months (tomorrow :) she can still wear some 3mth clothes. I've had a few people (have to say, all in-laws!) say that they're worried about her weight, since she's so "petite". I think she's perfect though! I tried weighing her on our scale, but it's hard to read! I think she's about 14lbs... Thanks again for posting this conversation!!

My son is 4.5 months old and weighs 20 pounds without clothes, solely breastfed. My doctor said that they no longer worry about breastfed babies being too heavy as they drop the weight quickly when they are no longer breastfed. Try not to worry, it will be fine

My son just turned 5 months hes about 14 pounds hes in the 15 percentile.. He looks smalls he only drinks his milk (formula) asleep. I give him baby food in the morning some days he eats and some days he'll only take a couple of spoons..

My daughter turned 5 months on 2/16 & she is at a whopping 18lbs 8oz!! So im right there with you... I actually was going to post the same question, because i feel like she is gaining so quickly!! Bree has a rice bottle before bed, eats a little oatmeal mixed with a spoonful of fruit for flavor, at lunch eats half a veggie/half fruit and an oz of formula... and the rest of the day she eats 5 oz every 3-4 hours!!

I would like to get one of those baby scales...does anyone know about how much they cost? Anyway, my son weighed 6lbs 6oz when he was born & was a little over 13lbs at his 4 month checkup. I have weighed myself on a scale & then weighed me holding him, so I'm estimating that he weighs somewhere between 15-16lbs now. (He was 5 months old on the 18th)

My son weighed 13 lbs 5 ounces at his 4 month appointment. He's just shy of 5 months now & he weights between 14 & 15 lbs. We started solids at after the 4 month well-visit.

My daughter was 14 lbs at her 3 month visit and in the 90th percentile. She was 14lbs 12oz at her 4 month visit and in the 75th percentile. She will be 5 months this Thursday and I would guess that she has gained less than a pound over the past month. I have learned to sit back--each baby grows at their own individual pace. It will all even out in the end!

My lil man is around the 20 lb mark! you are NOT alone! Judge them based on their growth curve, not other babies!

my daughters 15lbs and 2 oz. however.. my son was 14lbs and 12 oz at 2 months old. and around 19 lbs at 5 months... he's now 21 months, 35 lbs (give or take).

how tall is your daughter? my little girl is 26inchs and my son was 25 inchs at 2 months. he's now about 39 inchs (little over three feet). most his wieght is from how tall he is.. he's accutally pretty skinny. his doctors have never once been worried about his size.

My son weighed 17lbs 13 oz when he was 4 mos old. That was a month ago, I'm sure he's close to 19 now, if not more!

My baby was born on the 9th september as well, ive been worried about her weight for a while. She doesnt put much on! Ive just started giving her solids and she weighs 12lb 14oz. She's only just grown out of her 0-3 clothes...ive taked her to the doctor and spoke to the healthy visitor they say she's fine and that as long as she's happy and healthy, everything is good :)

Weight is one of those things that can drive you crazy! From what I have learned, there is no average - just average for your baby. If your ped is tellling you that she's doing well in her growth curve & she's meeting milestones then you should be able relax.

Here are our specs ;) My little guy is about the same age & by my guess - last weighed at 4 months - I'd say he's around the 15 pound mark. He's formula fed & not eating solids yet - another few weeks before we begin that adventure.
