Is there supposed to be a major growth spurt right now?

My little girl has never been much of an eater but all of a sudden she is eating like crazy. My husband had to feed her several times throughout the night. He tried to have her cry it out but she was screaming for hours. We're going to make sure we feed her enough throughout the day today and hope she doesn't scream all night tonight, too, but I am just wondering if it is normal for her to be having a growth spurt right now or what could be causing this. It's just like her 3 month growth spurt where we were like "What is going on?!"

my son isn't eating like crazy but his dr told me that there is a spurt around now usually - for a week he had been waking once in the night, which was not normal for him (i didn't get him up and he settled again quickly) but once i realized he was having a spurt i began giving a snack right before bed and the waking has stopped again :)
