I'm a stay at home mom and my little girl is going to be 9 months in 8 days and the way things are going now i'll still be frumpy mommy by the time she turns 1 ...and not a yummy mommy like i hoped to be. I feel like i really lett myself go these past months, i focused all my attention on my little girl and by the end of the day i had no energy left to take care of myself. Wearing sweat pants day in day out, no make-up, hair in a pony tail, still 12 pounds to lose and flabby parts i just don't want to think about. So if i wanna make my 1 year old deadline, now is the time to get into action...but i dont feel i can do this alone.
So i was wondering if there are any moms out there who feel the same and also want somebody to talk to for support, diet, excercise ,frustrations,...
Lett me know :)

First off, you're not alone. Second, you not only need to make yourself a priority to be a good example for your little one but you're mental and physical health can also affect them.

You want your daughter to be raised knowing that her mommy, who gives so much of herself day in and day out, deserves good things too. You're physical and mental health are also very, very important. They're intertwined really. You have to take care yourself so you can better take care of your children.

I actually went through these feelings years ago when I was overweight and found out my cholesterol was sky high. I was way too young for all that and could've easily been one of those women who has a heart attack in their 20s. I'm lucky to have learned how important my health and well-being is early.

After this pregnancy, I lost the 45 pounds I gained in 8 months exactly. I'd be happy to help you with any questions and help support you. :-) You can do it!!!!!

Hey Ladies!

Are you looking to get healthy, lose weight, improve your energy? Sounds great, right?

Let me tell you a little background on how I got here. My husband and I started the program in May of 2013. We were truly shocked at how easy this was and amazed by our results! I lost 20lbs in two months, and he lost 40lbs in 3.5 months.

If the pounds weren't enough to make me thrilled, loosing 4 inches in my butt and hips had me ecstatic! haha. The best part is we haven't gained it back. Our view on food is different and we are more active.

It was so incredibly easy to keep on board with the program. There is less than 5 min. prep time for the food, some are just open and go! I loved that I could toss a snack in my purse and not rely on finding a "healthy choice" on the go. Not to mention, cooking once a day was a nice break.

Well, one thing leads to another and I decided to be a health coach through Take Shape For Life after I did the program. I want to help others create a healthy lifestyle that is sustainable. I've included my website in case you want to reference it at a later time.

You can see all of the meal options, read more about what this program is and what it entails at the website below. Stop by my facebook page and feel free to email me any questions. I am completely honest and open and want to help you reach your goals. Did I mention my health coaching service is free?!!!!

Thanks, Kristin

So it's about time for the weekly update...
I have to say it has been a real struggle this week...and when things are not going right i tend to snack. Jaidah has had a few difficult day's ...she is cutting 3 new teeth and sleeping has not gone so well. So for most of the week i had like 4 to 5 hours of sleep a night ,so i have been floating through my days half asleep witch left me with almost no energy to do my excersises. But i have been on my daily walks, so at least i had a bit movement and my little missy is keeping me active too. For the rest i had some news that can delay my visa again and my car broke down , so i had less to non motivation this week. But i am glad to say that its a new week and despite of it all i lost 2 pounds. I drank lots of water, had a full plate of veggies every day and had only a few really unhealthy snacks. So next week im going to try and eliminate the snaks all together and work on my excersises at least 20 min a day.
10 more pounds to go...

Adrienne- Thank you for being so supportive and informative! It helps a lot and I REALLY appreciate it!
My weekly update from last week to this week:
I havent weighed myself! I havent been on the Wii Fit, and thats how I get weighed so I have no idea #s. BUT my husband and I are taking 2 weeks to transition to non processed foods. We talked about it and agree that it will be a great life change, and so healthy for us and our daughter.
We bought a workout ball and have been encouraging each other to do workouts with it. We have also taken walks almost every day. Ive been doing great with drinking water, ive had about 4 16oz bottles of water a day. I havent been perfect but Im doing ok. We are going out of town for 5 days to a wedding and to visit family, so this week will be a challenge! Im hoping to continue our walks and my sit ups and NO FAST FOOD!
How did everyone else do?

Welcome Sabrina! Just take it a day at a time. Here's the simple goals for this week I posted earlier:

Eat every 3-5 hours, drink lots of water, no eating after 8pm and do something exercise-wise everyday even if it's just a walk around the block.

Tessa, it sounds like you've hit a plateau. You'll have to do something a little extra to get you over the hump. You'll either have to cut a few more calories, maybe just 200, or add some more movement to your day even if it's just adding a few minutes. Maybe commit to doing some exercise during each commercial break of a 30 minute show. Do sit-ups one break, then squats, lunges, push ups, etc. Stick with it! Also, keep in mind that, since you've already been losing weight, your body doesn't require the same amount of calories it did when you started. The less of you there is, the fewer calories you need to run it.

Marijke, I totally agree with Bridget. It's not silly to want to look nice for your hubby. In fact, most cases of major weight loss occur because of a major life change. These changes can be anything from a health crisis or a major change in someone's personal life. For me, when I lost 50 pounds(this was before I was pregnant and I was just overweight), it was because my husband was deployed and I lost it because I wanted him to come home to a hot wife. So, NO, it's not silly! :-)

Bridget, I totally understand being your most fit at 150 pounds. Muscle weighs more than fat but takes up a fraction of the space that fat does. Keep in mind that this number might change as you get older because people typically lose muscle mass as they age unless they maintain the same lifestyle consistently. You'll know if it's still the right weight for you if you fit the same size you originally did at that weight. I love the Wii Fit and yoga tape ideas!

Ladies, it sounds like you all have some great goals set for this week. Stay strong and remember that this is a process. You'll have ups and downs but it's how you do in the long haul that'll count. If you slip up at a meal, don't say the whole day is blown. Just pick-up where you left off with the next meal. Can't wait to hear how you're all doing and post if you have any mid-week questions. :-)

Marijke- your reasons dont sound stupid! I think they sound like great reasons to have your goals! Good luck.

So I weigh quite a bit more than you ladies. Im at 197. Over time Id like to get down to 150- thats what I weighed when I was at my healthiest/most fit. According to charts I should weight around 130 for my height- Im 5'4" BUT when I was 150 I was a size 4/6 and had a body fat % of 19%. I am a former gymnast and have a lot of muscle mass.
Anyway, Id like to lose the weight by Christmas. I have a smaller goal of losing 10 lbs by the end of July.
My daily goals, which I have already started, are to do 250 sit ups through out the day- however I can space them out. Lately I have been fitting in 25-30 at a time. Also, weather permitting, I have started taking my daughter and dogs on 30-45 min walks. Also, my husband and I have committed to doing at least 30 minutes of a fun, physical activity every evening on the Wii. We have the Wii Fit, DDR and Just Dance. Both get my heart rate up and are so much fun! Oh, also, on the hot days I want to start going the Mommy/Baby Yoga tape I have. It is so much fun with my daughter and its much harder than I expected!
For my eating habits my goals are to drink more water- 8 glasses a day. Also, have healthy veggies at every meal, and eat a large portion of them before anything else. Eat fruit through the day. In the morning eating oatmeal has helped in the past, it fills me up! Im a terrible snacker so keeping fresh cut fruit around is so helpful.

Im excited about this ladies! If I report Ive been slacking I welcome encouragement of any kind :)

Ok me next, i currently way 147 pounds and i want be back a t my starting weight of 132 by the time my LO turns 1. The main reason for that is because i just don't feel good about myself right now, a couple of years ago i weighed 213 and i swore that once i lost the weigh it would never gain it again ( didn't take into acount that someday i would have to lose the pregnancy weigt ;). My second reason for wanting the weight of by september is that i will probably get to see my husband again :)!
See i live in Belgium and i married my handsome American man 2 years ago and we are finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel. With a little hope and prayers my papers should be in orther by then and the LO and me will at last be reunited with my husband.
so yeah it probably sounds a bit stupid, but i do wanna look good for my husband when i see him...i dont want love handles to be the first he feels when he huggs me lol.
So my goal for this week, cut out the sweets... drink 1.5 l of water a day and fit in 20 min of excercise daily in any shape or form.
Im glad i posted this...i alraedy have more courage and i'm looking foreward to next weekend to hear how everybody's week went.
Thank you all for responding to this and especially to Adrienne

I'm trying to lose weight. I have 40 lbs to go. I was 120 pre-baby, reached 198 lbs day of induction, and I'm struggling to get past that stupid 160 mark. I've been working out for months and months and it wont come off.

If everyone wants to post their current weight by Monday, we can all start on the simple goals I listed earlier and then discuss the good and the bad of the week. Hopefully, we can address any issue and give encouragement for the next week with a few more simple goals added. :-)

I think making semi-short term goals, like 4 weeks or by the end of July, is also helpful. It can be anything from lose 5 pounds, lose a dress size, do an exercise video 2x a week, start running, ect.

I'll start. I set a 5 pound weight loss goal in the middle of May to be reached by the end of this month. I'm 2 pounds away at 137 pounds so I've got 12 days to lose 2 pounds. I've also been working on running. I couldn't run even a minute 3 months ago but now I can run much longer and I'm working on increasing my pace to 6 mph.

Remember, everyone is at a different place so the goal here is just to be supportive. Can't wait to see how everyone does! :-)

I would love to be a part of a group where we can all discuss our "get in shape" plans! I have lost all of my baby weight- since there was hardly any- but I am still heavy and my body is nowhere near where I want it to be!
Being held accountable can be so helpful. I BEG my husband to try to help me, and remind me to work out and give me a hard time if I dont. Hes not very good about doing it!
I think Adriennes idea is great, posting here once a week- we could start this weekend by posting our starting weights, goals and plans! Is anyone interested?

Maybe everyone could have day that they report their weights here and talk about what went right and wrong that week.

Simple goals to start would be to eat every 3-5 hours, drink lots of water, no eating after 8pm and do something exercise-wise everyday even if it's just a walk around the block.

Maybe try those goals for the first week, if you want to do more, good for you. Every following week, add something new but simple to your routine.

I used to be a personal training, after losing 50 pounds, and I've already lost the 45 pounds I gained from my pregnancy. Just let me know if you'd like some weekly tips and you could tell me what your particular struggles are each week and I'd be happy to offer some solutions or alternatives. :-)

I guess we start off with getting on the scale and facing the facts...
Looking at our daily routine, eating and exercise wise and try to figure out what we are doing wrong and what we can improve.
I know that for the last months i have not been eating right and i haven't been doing any exercises except for running around after my daughter .
I decided that today is gonna be the last day off slacking off!
I bought some protein shakes to substitute my evening meal ( coz i know by the time i get to eat in the evening, there is no time left to work it off), i'm gonna make sure i drink 1,5 liters if water a day, take my shower early in the morning so i start off good and try to fit in some exercise( go for an extra walk with the stroller or put my pilates dvd on).
Well hopefully i will be this motivated in the morning :)
I think it would be nice to talk about our goals or just how our day went, support each other...

Oh my, how I feel this way. A huge adjustment for me was working to being a stay at home mom. I have NO motivation to clean, exercise, anything. I have found by going to the grocery early, I have more energy the rest of the day. The same goes for going for a walk or doing anything outside of the house by 8:30. If I wait past that, then I don't want to do anything the rest of the day.

I agree with finding support!
