We didn't want to put it in his bottle so we waited until tonight to try it on a spoon. He did really well with it and seemed to enjoy it. We'll stay with rice cereal for at least a month or so (eventually increasing the number of times a day.) He's just going to have dinner with us for a few weeks and then we'll add breakfast. We'll introduce fruit at around 6 months.

my daughter was born on the 7th, she started a lil rice cereal in her bottle at the end of october, some rice cereal for breakfast by november. now we havae her with a bowl of oatmeal in the morning mixed with peaches. it depends on the kid i guess. my pamphlet i got from the hospital said its ok if they are able to eat the cereals, and if they show an intrest. just start slow. the worst that will happen is they'll spit it up, or get constipated. just only introduce 1 food a week, then wait a week to make sure an allergy doesnt turn up. thats what my doc said

We're starting tonight! He was born Sept. 10th so he's a little over 4 months. The pedi gave us the green light to start introducing solid foods so we're going to try. If he doesn't like it, we'll wait a few more weeks.

My son was also born on the 12th of September. I always hear about people feeding their infants solids. I know it depends on the readiness of your child. We were thinking about introducing him to rice in his formula but his pediatrician said it wouldn't be a good idea because of possible food allergens. So many moms do it though. We aren't sure yet but we got this mesh pouch put out by Munchkin. You can put fruit and veggies into it for them to chew on. They get the taste without swallowing the pieces. It's supposed to help introduce them to more foods. We are going to try that soon.
