My son will not eat anything but fruit and formula!?

my 8 month old will not eat any baby food that has veggies or meat, chicken, rice, nothing. only fruits. ive tried mixing banana, his fav. with all sorts and he still wont eat. i dont know how to get him eating. when i cook rice and other things i try to feed him and hell eat a few spoons and thats it. i dont know if this will affect him in the long run, we are seeing his doctor soon for a check up and well see what he says but any ladies dealing with the same thing or any advise?

I've mixed the fruits and veggies together and my son eats them. Also putting a tiny bit of sugar in the veggies and he eats them right up =)

Also have you tried mixing the dry rice/ cereal with some formula or some of the fruit? My daughter loves it that way!

Thats all my son will eat is fruit and yogurt!! Although he has taken to the Ham pineapple rice mix by beechnut, it taste just like fruit which i think is the only reason he will eat it! I dont think its going to mess with him.. alot of the baby foods actually sit on shelves for a little while if you think about it and they tend to lose their flavor, try making your own veggies because you know its fresh and the flavor is still there.

my baby girl wouldnt eat anything other then fruit but now after letting her try different things she will try anything, she still has 2 bowls of fruit a day and mashed veges at night but wont eat the baby tinned veges only freshly cooked veges!

Do you make your own food, or buy from the store? If you buy baby food you can try the brand Earths Best. My daughter LOVES their meat, they have mixes like Mango Chicken Risotto and Apricot Chicken.
I made sure to give my daughter sweet potatoes since they are so healthy and somewhat sweet. I make most of my daughters food so I tried to do something similar to what you have tried, I got creative with mixes and would put cauliflower with sweet potato, and I tried carrotts with apples. It seemed to work with the right amount of sweet fruit.

That's ok, my daughter wont eat anything but some fruit and mostly breastmilk. You can't force a baby to eat what he/she doesn't want to. He'll eat it eventually when he's older. Have you tried giving him diced up greenbeans, and home made mashed sweet potatos? Maybe he just doesn't like baby food jars....
