I have a ten week old girl who I breastfeed, but I need to find a bottle to use for those times when I have to be away from her. I have tried Platyex drop in bottles and Adiri bottles. She does not like either of those. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Has anyone tried the First Years Breastflow bottles? I was looking at them last night as my daughter is just refusing every bottle we try to give her and I have to go back to work in less than two weeks! ARG!

Yes i would also recommend the breast flow bottles... they are not made like any other bottle there is actually 2 parts to the nipple.. it would be hard to make anything closer to seeming like that breast than those.

I tried almost all the bottle s available, but my son would not take any until a friend suggested to use MAM bottles, and he took them immidiatley with no problem at all.

Every bottle on the market today is made to "ease the transition between breast/bottle" and they all ar orthodontic and help with tooth formation and colic and gas. All are "breast-shaped". If you want to find a bottle that will work well for you, take a good look at your own nipple then try to find a bottle nipple that looks the same. Your baby will take best to a bottle nipple that is most like your nipple, and will have an easier transition between breast and bottle. Good luck to everyone looking for bottles for their babies!

Avent is shaped most like the womans breast, if that doesn't work I def. recommend Dr. Browns bottles

I tried 4 types of teets before I found one that my little girl liked. Pigion are the ones that we had success with. Chemist Warehouse stock these, I just bought the teets and use happy baby bottles which I got from coles ( 2 bottles for around $3.50)

My 14 week old Blake likes the Nuk Orthadontic ones the best. They are shaped more like your breast and help with tooth formation and colic and gas. she will barely take any other kind anymore. Hope it helps!

We recently made the switch from the Adiri to The First Years - Breastflow and they are OUTSTANDING! They require a proper latch, compression and suction. The first time he tried it he licked the nipple for a few minutes, and then took right too it. My son takes 20 minutes to "nurse" on his bottle and there's no gas (coming from a colic mess with the Adiri). I exclusively breastfeed, and pump for when I'm at work. He takes four 4 ounce bottles per day during the week and there's no lapse with breastfeeding. He has no nipple confusion, and never has. My son is now 4 months old, and I've been back to work since he was 10 weeks. Give them a try... you'll be pleased!

Hi, I use Nuby and I recommend it to EVERYONE breastfeeding. I was soooo scared my baby would have trouble with nipple confusion in the beginning so I tried to find a bottle that is most like the breast and I found it in this bottle. We started him on bottles at 10 weeks and this has been our only bottle. My baby is now 17 weeks and he loves this bottle and we do too. We had no problems at all and the best part is that the nipples grow with the baby's needs. It starts out with slow drip nipples and then you can buy medium and fast drip when the baby needs them. They are incredibly easy to clean and I highly recommend getting the drying rack and brush for them because they are inexpensive and work well. You probably have purchased a bottle by now, but I thought I would post just incase you are unhappy with what you used. Good luck!

We love the Playtex VentAire with the wide, slow-flow nipples. We've had no problems with her feeding via bottle at all.

My daughter was only breastfed until about 1 month ago and for the past month has been having a bottle once a day. I use Advent bottles and have found them better than any others so far. Although she is starting to prefer the bottle to me I think.

My daughter does well with the breastflow bottles. They have 2 nipples to stimulate the let down of the breast. We only use the bottle if I have to go run errands or something and hubby has to feed her, so maybe twice a week she uses it.

I've had no problem switching between BF and bottles with the Born Free Bottles. My son has never had a problem with these and the venting system keeps him from getting gassy, he hardly ever burbs when he is bottle fed. I love these bottles!

My husband did research (about BPA and all that) and he finally settled on the Born Free glass bottles. My daughter did not have any trouble transitioning to them, but we did it around 4 weeks. The only complaint is getting the oily film off that breast milk leaves on the bottle. Doesn't seem to stick to plastic though...

My one friend's daughter would only take the Nuk bottles. She tried the Avent first, but those got rejected.

It's basically trial and error when it comes to bottles. Good luck!

THE BORN FREE BOTTLES ARE A GREAT TRANSITION FROM BREAST TO BOTTLE FOR MY SON!

I've tried alot of bottles but the ones that work the best for my 3 month old son is the nuk airflow bottles. the breastflow bottles are nice but they seem to shrink in when he sucks and makes an akward shape to get his lips around. Good luck!

I have used the Born Free, and also Dr. Brown's Natural flow. Just makes sure the nipple is either a Level 1, or Level 2. Somehow, we had a level 4 slip into the mix, and the flow is WAY too fast! My son is 12 weeks, and we have been using the bottles since 2 weeks old. My son was severly tongue tied, and it was far too painful to bf him before he had his surgery, so I would pump it into the bottles to feed him. He seemed to adjust really well to the Dr. Brown's. We just introduced the Born Free about 1 week ago, and he seems to like that one as well.

My daughter took the Dr. Brown's ok but then had a hard time nursing after a few weeks due to nipple confusion. We moved to the First Years Breastflow bottles and it's awesome now. She takes them well, they mimic nursing and she hasn't had any issues since. I love them and I could get them cheaper than the Dr. Brown's. The only negative is no one near me sells them in store so I have to order them online.

Gerber Nuk. The nipple is designed to be most like the real thing - just be sure to get the slow flow one.

I agree. We use Dr. Brown's wide bottle/nipples. I won't repeat all the comments mentioned above. I had heard a lot about Dr. Brown's when I was pregnant. Friends had positive experiences with Dr. Brown's. Helped eliminate colic in their babies.

I agree with the Dr. Brown's wide bottle/nipples. They are a little bit more difficult to clean because there are more parts, but I haven't had any problems with them. My son takes them just fine and he hasn't needed gas drops, either. Good luck!

My son uses Dr. Brown's. You can get them with the wide rim which is what my lactation consultant recommened, but we already had the tall ones. He switches back & forth very easily.

I use Dr. Browns and I started her on them at about 4 weeks, as I am breatfeeding as well. She has never had a problem with them. I heard they are the best for breastfeeding moms because of how the nipple mimics that of the moms breast.

I use Avent bottles. My firstborn screamed through every bottle for 4 months, didn't matter what brand I used, and I tried everything. But my second is a little piggy and doesn't care what shape the nipple is, so long as it has plenty of milk inside it. You didn't mention whether you are putting breast milk or formula in the bottle. Be very cautious about the size of nipple you are using, too. Breastfed babies are very strong suckers and breast milk is thinner, but bottle manufacturers size their nipples for formula-fed babies whose suck is less strong and formula is thicker. I went back to newborn nipples for my firstborn, and she suddenly started liking bottles. Keep trying; I feel for you!

I started using Chicco glass bottles with a silicone nipple, but now my daughter won't take those for her occasional bottles (she just chews on the nipples). So I have been using the bottles that came with my Medela breast pump. The nipple seems to work for her for some reason.

Dr. Brown's makes a wide nipple bottle to feel like a breast...I only formula feed so I don't know firsthand but I did notice those at the store.

Well, I use Playtex for 9 week old Cate. The latex nipple resemble the natural breast and they have been clinically proven to mimic breastfeeding. It has taken a good three weeks to get her to take a bottle at all. We tried Dr. Browns first and they did not work for her at all. They playtex seem to be much better for her, but it still takes alot of patience since she prefers the breast. Also, she will not take a bottle from me, only my husband when I'm not around. Good luck!
