Im on the same boat!! My son wasd born 9/16 and on dec. i went back to wok for 3 weeks and decided to quit and be a stay at home mom to my 4 year old and now 8 month old. Its a big change in life but i love being home with them every minute of th day. Its a sacrafice you'll make but so well worth it. Nobody will take better care of your children the way a mommy will.

Our daughter was born in September. After checking prices of daycare we realized that we would both benefit from me staying home. We have had to make some sacrifices do to the cut in income but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I love being here with her all day everyday and I don't have to worry about missing any milestones. I am dealing with a bit of guilt though not contributing to the bills anymore. My husband assures me it is alright so I have to trust him. :) Our relationship has gotten much stronger too, he works nights so we only saw each other on his days off, when I worked. Now, we get so much more time together and it's wonderful.

I was only working part time on weekends and I went back for 1 week.. My husband really wanted me to stay home with the new baby. When my 6 yr old was born I had a hair salon and it was easier and made more sense to close after a while.. Now I am a full time stay at home mom. I love it.. My husband is very supportive and realizes that the work I do at home with the kids is hard and he says he could never do it.. If you truely want to stay home with baby, do it.. You will never get this time back..

Hi Tracey. i was lucky i actually got 2 years of maternity leave (only 12 weeks paid) so i dont have to go back until august of 2011. I have already decided not to go back though mostly because i have twins and ive looked at how much i earn compared to how much in childcare i would be paying and its just not worth it. i would rather stay at home with my kids than make a couple bucks!!

In America we only get 12 weeks by law...it's crap! But I didn't go back to my full time day job which I eventually knew was going to happen. I have a dance studio so I can put more time into that and obviously stay at home with my little guy during the day.
