My 9 month old girl has had three episodes of UTI already, and has been on long term treatment of antibiotics. She has gained weight very poorly, and is still at 6.7 kgs (14.8 lbs) when she was weighed last week. Her birth weight was 3.2 kgs. She has reached her other milestones like teething, crawling, standing etc, but am not sure if she will be the required 10 kgs by the end of her first year. I am also worried sick that the recurring infection can lead to kidney scarring or renal infection. She has already undergone an ultrasound and MCUG, and any physical anomalies were ruled out. Would appreciate if someone can help me find a way to cure her, other than going the antibiotocs way, which anyways is not helping.

ok, I hope I don't offend, but are you wiping her the right way? front to back? only using wipes for poopie diapers, not wet ones? simple stuff, but it can make a big difference,
if you're worried about weight gain, I would suggest making your own baby food. my LO was preemie, 3lbs3oz at birth, now she is a chunker! I honestly believe it is b/c I make all her food myself. She eats anything and everything. If you're interested, I would be happy to talk to you about homemade baby food- i promise it's not as hard as it may seem!

Have the doctors looked at the tubes that run from her bladder to her kidneys sounds like that might be the problem my oldest daughter had to have surgery to fix the tubes she had lots of utis before the doctors figured out what was causing it
