Yes..Cayden is 5 months old. He has rolled from back to tummy just once a few weeks ago but not since. He is a tummy sleeper so he gets a lot of time on his tummy...flipping to his back every time he's in his crib waking up..but he won't flip on his floor mat. He has been spending more time on his sides as of late. I'm not too worried. Every baby developes at his/her own pace.

Yes Hun Keira has flipped a few times but HATES tummy time not really sure what to do, so i lay her on my legs on her tummy for a few minutes everyday and hope that she gets used to it and start enjoying tummy time on the floor, but I am not going to rush her she will do everything in her own time

My baby girl is 5 months and has yet to master rolling over or rolling onto her side, but absolutely loves tummy time. Refuses to sleep on her back. The rolling over and such isn't a milestone, so I wouldn't be to concerned with it. However, if you would like him to learn this, I recommend trying to teach him by guiding him. Have him hold onto your finger and gently guide him over. Babies only learn by repetition, so a little patience will pay off! Good luck :D

My daughter is 5 months now and she is always on her side, even when sleeping at night, she refuses to sleep on her back now. I can give her tummy time for a few minutes each time now. At first she would just scream and get herself stressed, so i had to just keep doing it for a little while each time. I found out it laying next to her and talking to her kept her calm. So just keep trying and lay down next to him and talk, or even put a toy in front of him.

Jenna had been rolling on her sides for a month, then on the day she was 5 months, she rolled from back to belly and hasnt done it since, she doesnt mind being on her tummy but she spits up so much. He will rolled over when you least expect it.

Dallas rolled from back to tummy first. When she does roll on to her tummy she gets frustrated and crys. She has only managed to roll from tummy to back a few times. She usually gets so mad I just turn her over myself.

Wow! I have been worried my little boy, born 9/18/09 hates tummy time and will barely roll to his side. He is heavy! He is a little over 19 lbs! My pediatrician says it is because he is so large and not to worry, but my 2 older ones both rolled over by 4 months! I feel better that this is more common than I thought.

Yeah, my daughter has the same problem. She hates tummy time. I make her do it, though, and make sure she's rested, fed (but not too shortly before), and in a playful mood. I put her favorite toys in front of her & stick her pacifier in her mouth (otherwise she buries her face in the floor trying to suck on the blanket). I get down on the floor with her, and we play for as long as she will tolerate - at first it was less than a minute, but it has grown longer and longer. So she is now rolling front to back, and back to side...and she'll tolerate tummy time for 4-5 minutes at this point before she rolls off her tummy and plays on her back instead.

my daughter was born 9/16/09 and does well with tummy time unless she is tired or her next starts to get tired (because she will no longer put her head down, shes too much of a big girl for that haha). she rolled over for the first time today though!! from her tummy to her back!! :)

We read online if he is reaching toward toys, that you can put them behind his head just out of reach while he is on his back. He will reach for them and it will teach him to roll over. Daddy did this on the floor with Seth for about a week and he finally rolled over ! Hang in their they are all on their own schedule !

My 4month old son hates tummy time as well. While laying on his back he gets SO close to rolling over, but he doesn't!! When he is on his belly he screams the whole time!

Both of my girls can get to their sides really easily, but they haven't quite grasped how to move that arm out of the way. And neither of them really likes tummy time. They are happy only for about a minute, but they aren't pushing up (not like they did off of my husbands stomach). But they can rotate their whole body 360degrees ! I know they will get it eventually :)

Our little boy born 3rd of Sep hates tummy time too, he is really good at lifting his head and is getting strong that way, but generally just rubs his nose in the mat, sheet or whatever he is on and complains! He has only just started rolling on to his side and seems to like sleeping that way, although we did find him with his legs either side of the bars of his cot a few times ... not sure how he managed to get there but I have now put a small rolled buffer to stop him from slipping through as he gets so distressed in that position, hmmm wonder why? ;) I guess it is only a matter of time before he realises that he can roll all the way, but like Sarah Montana, I'm sure he knows he doesn't like to be on his tummy so just doesn't go that far, haha!

Same with my baby girl, she was born 9/11/09...she finally rolled from tummy to back the other night but it was by accident. She does alot of side to side but won't go all the way over and lays her head down when we try tummy time. She is very chubby and I think that might be part of her problem!!

My 4 1/2 month old hates tummy time & has only rolled over from tummy to back about 3 or 4 times accidently (and this was about a month ago). He has not done it since. I try to encourage tummy time, but he just hates it so much. He only does it for a minute or so & then lays his little head down. He also spits up alot when he's on his tummy. Don't know what that's about! Oh well...I know he'll get it eventually!

My little Brayden was born on 9/14/09 and started rolling from tummy to back at 5 weeks old, and after about a week of that he hasn't done it since. But here lately he has begun to turn from back to stomach a lot, especially at night. According to a paper I got from the dr. some babies don't make the complete turn until 6 months. Doesn't mean there is anything wrong just means they may not be ready yet. Also for tummy time which my baby hates as well, I put a whole bunch of toys in the playpen and prop him up on the tummy time pillow anmd play with him, but he will still only stay about 5 mins. What works mostly is when I lay on the floor or the bed and put him tummy down on top of me. He doesn't seem to mind it then, and this is the same as tummy time and can also be used as bonding time! Hope this helps!

my little girl born 09/30/09 has been rolling from her belly to her back for a while now but has finally started to roll from her back to her belly and back again. we have seen he really cover some ground via rolling to get somewhere. it was so exciting to see her roll over like a big girl.

I have a set of twins born 9/8/09. My little boy absolutely loves tummy time and now sleeps on his side and every now and then on his belly (which scares me first thing in the morning when I go in to wake him up) but my little girl (the larger of the two) can not stand to be on her belly she hates it. I get in the floor to play with her eye to eye but that doesn't even work. To get in the tummy time I put her across my lap with her arms under her. She picks her head up and pushes against my legs. This is the only way we get the tummy time in with her. I also try to work with her on the rolling over but so far not much luck.

My little guy has been rolling to his side just before he turned 3 months, and still hasnt gone all the way yet! lol. (he'll be 5 months on feb, 4th.) He seems very strong, so I'm not too worried about it. I help him to get to his belly to have some tummy time, which is limited (he doesnt like it for too long.) I think he just knows that he doesnt like being on his tummy, lol.. I bet it wont be long tho, just keeps us moms wondering!

I wanted to ask about rolling over as well... My son rolled over from both wides a FEW weeks ago but rarely does it now. Only aboue 6 times total??? I figure he'll do it more when he realizes he can get around this way but I just wanted to make sure he's ok... Tummy time is not his favorite...he only does it a couple minutes at a time. When he does do it I don't put him on his tummy I roll him...trying to show him how. Not sure if it's working. :) lol

Daniel only likes tummy time when he is propped up on a pillow or boppy. However, the other day, he was on his back playing. The next thing I know, he is on his stomach! I totally missed the actual process :(, but it's exciting to know that he can do it. A couple of months ago he rolled from tummy to back, but he's not done it since. He spends a lot of time on his sides. I'm sure your son is experiencing the same thing, and he's just working on it!
