Are anyones september babies sitting up unsupported yet? I keep getting asked if Noah (born 9/12) sits up alone yet. He's not. I was just curious how many are.

I used the bumbo too (his thighs are almost too chunky to go in it now). I think it really does help!

My baby girl was born 9/5 and has been sitting unsupported for about 6 weeks now. However when she is on her tummy, she doesn't try to crawl. the doc says this all falls within normal range. We sat her in the bumbo and also on the floor with a boppy pillow around her an dthat seemed to help her learn to balance.

My daughter Charlotte (born 9/2) and has been sitting unsupported for almost a month now. She occaisonally topples over if she gets too excited and throws herself back and to the side if she leans too far to reach for something. It is usually a slow motion type fall where you can see it coming and watch her gradually fall and intervene before she gets a bump on the head. She hates being on her tummy and has just now tried crawling but she can pull herself to stand on things that are sturdy enough and have the right height (full laundry basket etc). She loves walking around and when we hold her up to the bath tub or furniture she walks side to side (still VERY unstable) but so proud of herself! They are all different! My niece is 2 months to the day older and refuses to stand and still topples over. Charlotte has always preferred to be upright (she's nosy and has to see what's going on) since she was weeks old.

Jaylen, born on 9/13, has been sitting unsupported for about 2 weeks now. He just woke up and decided that is what he wanted to do...so have no fear, Noah will do it when he is ready! We are also standing him up a lot so that he can start to support himself by holding onto stuff. I think we are feeling a little too ambitious about getting him to move by himself but it will help me out when I do not have to hld him allllllll day! He is a very needy baby!

Ashley, my daughter used to do the same thing. Luckily she began to like being on her belly about a month ago. I worried that she wouldn't start crawling on time, but my doctor assured that even if it's only for a few minutes a day, any and all tummy time helps. Once my daughter realized that she could lift herself up and even occupy herself a little while on her tummy, she suddenly being to tolerate it a little more each day. Now she plays on her tummy, and even rolls onto her tummy to sleep at night.

My daughter (9/4) has been sitthing unsupported. We also used the boppy alot, or just sat her right in front of us, and she eventually just started to sit up more and more on her own. I work at a learning center in the infant room, so I tend to compare a lot with the other children. It's crazy how VERY different each baby is. There are 7 and 8 month olds who do not sit up on their own yet, some who barely have an interest. But then again there are 8 month olds who are almost walking. Sometimes I worry that my daughter is "behind" in some things, like lifting herself up while on her tummy, because she hating being on her tummy for so long. But then she suprised us by sitting up early. It's hard not to compare your child to others, but they are all so different, and maybe excel in certain areas and be a little behind in others.

My Jacob was born 9/26/09 and he's almost there. I think it has to do with how big the baby is, weather he can support his weight. My baby was 9lbs even.

My daughter born 9/18 can sit for a couple seconds and then falls to the side. She hasn't rolled over yet. Everytime we lay her on her belly she cries within a few minutes. Any advice on helping with that would be very helpful. Thanks!

My son born 9-25 can sit by himself for a while until he tries for a toy. He also has not rolled so I think each kid works at their own pace. I would not worry too much, eventually it will come.

My son Connor born 9/17 is just starting to sit unsupported. He doesn't sit that long, after a couple minutes he'll fall forward or to the side so he has to watched carefully. He's never rolled so I guess all babies do things in different orders.

My son is not yet he last a couple of seconds, mind you he was 5wks early but he does seems to scoot around on his back pretty good because he is never in the same spot as I left him. He has only rolled from tummy to back twice. His older brothers keep helping in which it really does not help..lol

Just goes to show how each baby is different and in there own time will do it when ready.

Forgot to add he was born Sept 10

My son Weston was born 9/17, he doesn't roll over but he can sit up and lean forward when I put his hands in front of him, but he will look up at something and fall over or fall back. My son throws a tantrum in the bumbo seat, and his fat legs barely fit, lol. I bought thr tray to go with it and suction cupped some toys, he did a lot better, but he still cries when i go to put him in it!

My Livi was born on 9/24 and isn't sitting up unsupported, but does well in a Bumbo or light support from me or her daddy. She just needs a finger or two holding her steady. She rolls onto her tummy like a pro, but has yet to roll BACK over onto her back. All babies are different! ♥

My daughter sits unsupported for 30 seconds or so before falling over - but she falls really slowly. Do you have a bumbo seat? I love ours, helps strengthen the back muscles. BUT, she has NO interest in rolling over. She rolls to either side when on her back, but flipping from tummy to back or vice versa she could care less. She will lift her head when on her tummy and stick her butt in the air and try to scoot, but doesn't seem to try to roll over at all. Oh well, guess I"ll have a walking talking toddler who doesn't know how to roll over! lol

My son Erik was born 29 Sep. He doesn't sit up yet, but he rolls over both ways, and gets on his hands and knees in the crawling position and rocks back and forth then leaps to where he wants to go. Every baby develops differently, I wouldn't worry about it

My little guy can only sit for about 10 seconds on his own before he falls over...I just keep at it with him; putting pillows around him incase he falls and I can't catch him in time but eventually he'll get it. My doctor says that babies don't start sitting up on their own till about 8 to 9 months so don't worry.
