Warming up milk

My son was born 9-4-09 and he did great transitioning from breastmilk to formula to whole milk. We made this mistake of warming up his whole milk when we started giving it to him and now he won't take it cold. We started reducing the time we warm it up for, but we still have to warm it up. Has anyone else had any problems with this. Any suggestions?

I had a friend that used to warm her daughters milk up and it took forever to get her to drink it straight from the jug to her cup. I would sugest only warming it up for bed time but other wise hand it to him cold if he really wants milk he will eventualy drink it cold. just dont let it sit out for more then 30 min with out refrigeration. you can also try mixing in some flavored milk a few times while its cold. my son loves bannana milk (gerber yougert juice and milk).

I make the same mistake. I gradually started heating the milk up less and less and now he drinks it cold without any trouble. Just make the transition really slow and you shouldn't have too many problems.

I think with summer I stopped heating up the milk, because it gets so hot here that that is probably the last thing you want is to drink something warm. He got used to it cold, and never warmed it up since. But before bed it might be good, warm milk is said to help people fall asleep :) Hope you find what works best for you!!
