My 3 week old baby has been breastfed so far but I want to be able to give my baby formula feedings every once in a while when I go back to work or am away from my baby for a couple hours. I tried giving her a bottle yesterday and she took to it just fine but this morning she threw up her entire breast milk feeding and she is extremely fussy and is in obvious pain which isn't like her at all. My first child was very colic and had to be on alimuntim formula. I was thinking about waiting a couple days and trying to give her a soy formula bottle and see if she takes to that better. I want to continue to breastfeed but I just won't the flexibility to give her formula when I want as well...any thoughts??

Could you try pumping and stocking up on milk before you go back and then continuing to pump so she can have breast milk from the bottle when you can't be there?? I was unlucky and couldn't breast feed but she had to be on Similac Sensitive, which is a non-soy lactose free formula.
