Who is potty training?

I started introducing my son to the potty at 15 mo. He has had issues with having bowel movements and prefers to use the potty chair for them. I wanted to further train him, but I haven't had support in his room at daycare with them putting him on the potty. He doesn't move up for another almost 3 months. I figured I just had to wait until he moved up. :(

my daughter is now 21 months and we started toilet training her at 13 months, she was fully toilet trained at 14 months, i think starting them straight on the toilet rather the the potty is so much easier. i am now starting to put her to bed without a nappy and so far so good.

My daughter is 22 months. She does pretty good with peeing. It's the pooping she has issues with. She is in panties all day at daycare except for naptime. She will tell us "potty" when she needs to poop but it is usually right after she poops. I can't complain too much though bags does decent. Ready to be done with diapers.

I know it sounds weird but spray the inside of the portable potty chair with non-stick baking spray or smear cooking grease (Crisco) or petroleum jelly (even KY jelly). This helps the poo and all the other interesting stuff that gets thrown in to the potty to come out much easier! Wipe clean with tp, then a cleaning wipe, spray, and go - baby - go!!

I've always used a little potty for the beginning stages, then "upgrade" to the potty seat for the big potty when they are fully trained, mostly because the regular potty seats are too big and they fall in! So the potty seat is good for later, rather than sooner.

We started about three days ago and it's going great! Dallas has only had wet diapers when she wakes in the morning and after nap time! She love the potty and would probably sit on it all day of we'd let her haha. We really just wanted to introduce her to the potty but now I'm hoping to have her potty trained by her bday on September 5! Still no poopy in the potty, mainly bc she has only pooped once since we started. Maybe a poopy in the tiny pink potty tomorrow, fingers crossed! :))

im training my 21 month old little girl now for a week and she is completely poo potty trained and generally has 1-2 accidents a day but is more likely to have an accident if she has underwear or pants on but just bare bummed in a dress where she is able to go on the potty alone without help seems to be going very well.

We have been working with our daughter. I am not pushin it but we try to get her on the potty two times a day. She tells us after the fact when she has used the bathroom in her diaper.

I really dont think it matters, as long as they are going in a "potty" anything! If they feel more comfortable on a potty chair and it works, then why not?! Elaina loves her potty chair, but she loves going in the big potty too. Potty books help too, especially ones with buttons that have the sound of the flush, because then they get more used to the sound and might not be as scared.

Honestly, i'm a huge supporter of potty chair, my son was intimidated by the 'big potty' so i much prefer the little stand alone potty, plus they can play around to get used to it, and get on and off all unasisted, which aids in the 'big kid, do it my self' stuff, my son was big into that, "no i do it!" on everything! Also- with boys it's great cause they watch daddy stand and pee, and my son went straight from potty to standing like daddy to pee in the big toliet, of course it took him a bit to not be scared to poo on the big toliet. i will warn you though, cleaning the poo out of those is nasty, especially when your preggo during the potty training, it made me want to gag, normally that stuff doesn't bother me that much. Everyone has different opinions, but i say, you know your child and i could tell right away he wasn't about the big potty at the start, and he did great with a potty, even if it's a pain to clean! :) GOOD LUCK!!

I was just wondering if its best to use the chairs that go on the toilet or a potty? I bought the chair but little guy is short and its big for him and he gets scarred if I put him on it so I have left it for now. I was thinking maybe I should try a potty? I was starting to tell me when he needed a wee and poo and he will wee in the bath but runs and hides when he needs a number two and he is not keen to sit on the toilet at all so i know he isnt ready but I was wondering if a potty may be easier for him? Lots of people say it un-hygenic and you should just get them used to the toilet? What are your thoughts?

We have been working on potty training for a while now off and on. She loves going potty in the big girl potty. I bought a singing potty when we first started, and she loved it, she would get up and dance every time she went. I have been slacking lately (just being busy). But i totally agree, let them run around naked or in underwear! when i let Elaina do that, she always tells me when she has to go! I think a diaper is to familiar and they are used to going into it, and they forget.

Good for you, for some reason I always hear girls are easier, but i'm sure all kids are different. I have 2 boys and the oldest we started a little over 2yrs of age..he really did great once it clicked....although nights took awhile... and my 21mth old son will sit, play and smile/laugh about it but, won't do anything, his older brother will get him to sit on it and he thinks it's neat, but would rather just play with it. I'm not really even gonna think about pushing it until he 2 or some real interest sparks, because he is really headstrong and if they aren't ready, it's so much harder. He doesn't really talk all that much either, he understands everything, but if we could communicate more it'd be alot easier!! of course i'd love him to not be in diapers, as we are having our last in dec.but i just am not ready for the battle and mess yet. :) Going to daycare makes it even harder because they don't really push it. Good for you getting them trained so early!!

My daughter is only 19 months and we are just in the beginning stages. She is still full time in nappies but I put her on the toilet everytime we change her. She has done a few wee's which is great. It is winter here at the moment, as soon as Summer hits we will be putting her in undies (scary!) but I can't wait to get rid of nappies. Good luck with your kids!
