Who is still Breastfeeding??

I wish I could say my baby has never had any formula, which is how I raised my two older children. Unfortunately, I have to work so it's impossible. My 7 month old is mostly breastfed. I do sacrifice my lunch hour at work to pump as much as I could. I'm a teacher, so that''s the only time I could pump. So, my precious one drinks breastmilk at the day care, and about 3 - 5 ounces of soy formula when he isn't enough with what I was able to pump.

To all the moms who are able to breastfeed exclusively, you're so lucky to have that option. For me, it's difficult because I know the difference, having breastfed my other children exclusively. My older ones had no problems with constipation and gas. They also had less instances of runny noses. My little one had to be taken off regular formula because it made him gassy and fussy. Now, the soy formula makes him constipated. He wouldn't be going through this if he were only breastfed. Thankfully, summer will be here in 6 weeks, and during summer I will give him only breastmilk.

Maddie will be 7months next week and we are still going strong with the breastfeeding. I have never pumped and she has not ever taken any formula. She did start solids around 5.5 months but decided that she did not care for them. We have went back to breast only for a couple of months till she is ready to start veggies and fruits. I am wanting to breastfeed atleast until Maddie is 12 to 18months old!

7 months on the 24th and still breastfeeding! We never had to use formula. She's started eating some fruits, veg, and cereal but still has breastmilk for the most part. I plan on continuing until she's 12 months and I have to go back to work. Might try to keep pumping and put off giving her cow's milk.

I feed him once a day or so...I wish I did it more...I cried the 1st time I gave him formula. I wasnt making enough milk or something ((even though they said I was)) but he was just ALWAYS hungry he was loosing weight I felt horriable cus I couldnt feed my baby...so the dr had me do both breast and formula....and the pump I had sucked and I had midterms to study for a month after I got out of the hospital...I was feeding him thru the night but he sleeps all night now...Ohh well I'll try again next time...

Still going and love it! We did have a rough start and I had to give in to formula when we came home from the hospital, my milk didn't want to come it, but I nursed and nursed and then gave her an ounce of formula and would pump at least every 2 hours. then once my milk came in, everything I was able to pump went into the formula so that she was weaned from formula. She's never had it again after that first week and she may have gotten 6ounces total maybe. I was soooo thankful that she didn't give up on my breastmilk :) We stuck it out together with Daddy by our sides, it's was awesome.

7 months and still going strong. Not a drop has passed her lips. I have only left her over feed time a handful of times and she will take 50mls of BM from a bottle and then sleep and just "wait" till i get back. It's awesome.

Someone wrote that they were stopping due to cost of a new pump. Have you considered the cost of formula for the next 6-12 months. Way more than the cost of a pump.

right now still nursing but wanting to stop soon.... i am having too many issues with myself and i feel she is not getting the nutrients that she needs.... it has been the best bonding time though... two other children and didn't nurse them.... it is definitly dificult to go anywhere and i miss that...

I am still breastfeeding. Isaac get some fruits and vegis for lunch and rice cereal with a little vegi mixed in when we eat dinner but no formula, he hates the bottle. He goes to bed at 9 and wakes up at 6. If he goes to bed earlier then he will wake up earlier to nurse.

We are still exclusively breast feeding! Fatima has started grabbing at foods when we are eating so she has started receiving vegetables and fruits when we eat meals .

Amen! Me too!!! Lucy will be 7 months on the 18th, everyone keeps telling me to get her on bottles so they can babysit and I just tell them to chill, we're taking our time! Lucy also like to eat her Earth's best veggies, fruits, and rice cereal--the only truly organic baby food we've found, just until our garden is up and going for the season, then we'll make our own BF.

my chubby boy is still exclusively BF.... he gets 2 oz of a veggie once a day tho.... he was getting skinny and we decided to start him on solids... never did cereal or formula once!!!! i want to BF atleast a year!

My penny is sleeping through the night too. . . has been since about 6 weeks (i know i know) I'm sorry but it's true. She goes to sleep around 9-930. . . and then i'll wake her at around 11:30 12 for a last feed, then she sleeps til around 8 in the morning. . . try the late feeding Kathleen, thats all i can offer.

still at it. . . no formula, she eats 'solids' now but she still comes to mom for a drink. . . she wouldn't have it any other way. If she just sees a bottle she gets pissed.

for those of you who are still breastfeeding, are your babies sleeping thru the night? I'm still BF and colin eats, falls asleep about 830, 9 and wakes up at about 4 to eat again. He's also eating real food, rice cereal. Am i the only one still waking up in the middle of the night??!?

Chelsea why don't you store some BM and send it w/dad that one day??? It stores in the fridge for 5-7 days, you could start a few dys before hand and then your baby would have what he/she needs that one day you're not there!

I exclusively pump and am still going...plan on 1 yr like did w/the 1st. Jake had formula the first couple days until my milk came in and then he hasn't had any since that first week home! :)

Im still breastfeeding and my son will be 7 months the 19th. he does get formula one day a week when hes with his dad but i dont think he takes it very well and he spits most of it back up. He knows when he wants to nurse and knows right where its at. I think breastfeeding is so much easier bc you dont have to fix bottles or buy formula. i stay at home with my son so i only pump when hes gone that one day. I think its an awesome experience that every mother should have. It takes some gettin used to feed in public but once you get the hang of it its like natural. And who cares about the people who stare, talk about you, or look at you in digust! your doing whats best for your baby and there is NOTHING wrong with breastfeeding. I do watch and make sure i am modest while im in public, so it is perfectly fine for me to let my son nurse wherever i may be when hes ready!:)

Unfortunately, I'm not breastfeeding anymore. In fact, we stopped at 2 months. :( It was kind of a rough breastfeeding experience & I have since then learned a TON about breastfeeding & hope to be successful with it if I have anymore children. :)

I'm still breastfeeding too. Babes gets formula while I work. I work 6 hour shifts 3 times a week and I hate to pump. He drinks about 2 oz of formula when I'm gone and then gets a mouth full when I get home to make up for it! Congrats to all the mommas still bf'ing! I'm proud of all of us!

still breastfeeding, though not exclusively. that ended the first night I tried giving her 4 oz of formula after her last feeding and she slept all night. I still bf for all her other feedings during the day, she just gets a little extra at night. Hopefully we'll go til she's a year or more. I'm enjoying not having a period!

Levi is still EBF. We went through about a week or 2 where I had to give a couple ounces of formula a day. But now we're good. Must've been a growth spurt or something

My daughter is just 7 months, she too is still being breast fed and has never had any formula. She has however had 1 bottle of diluted cows milk after I left her with my Mum who didn't hear me say get the milk out the freezer so gave her the cows milk. I was not very happy!!!! I'm planning on continuing until she is 12 months, although she has just started teething so that may change!! lol

I just stoped like a week ago, Things got harder when my pump brook and I really cant just run out a by another 200 dollar one at the moment lol and the hand ones really dont work for me. But my goal was at least 6 months and I made it, would have gone longer if I wasnt about to start back up work. CONGRATS on everyone who is still going good for you all!

I stopped pumping/started weaning myself from the pump beginning when DS was about 6.5 months old. Pumping is twice the work, and it kept me secluded in a room allll by myself hiding multiple times a day while I milked myself like a cow. 6 months was my pumping goal, and that's all the more I could take. If DS would have breastfed, I would have gone longer, at least a year, maybe beyond.

my bub is 7.5mo im still breastfeeding him..will keep going till he is 12months then see where we are at. He would of had formula if he would take a bottle lol would love a night out!! oh and a decent sleep :)

i am still breastfeeding but baby hasn't grown for 6weeks am thinking of starting formula in meals and sippy cup , not sure love the breastfeeding. good on you for sticking to it i'm proud of me too! :)
