Hi Guys!

I tried the at home gender prediction test you can buy at the store. Happy with the results just wondering how accurate they are!!! According to the web site they are 80-90% accurate. Anyone else try this test? What where your results? It's killing me to wait until 18 weeks!!!!

I looked at the Chinese calendar too and it said my daughter was supposed to be a boy. All of the old wives tales predicted her to be a boy too lol so we aren't bothering with them this time

They just test the PH levels in your urine...it's cheaper to buy PH strips and if your urine is acidic it's said to be a boy, neutral it's said to be a girl. BUT, it's a very unreliable way to determine sex since what you eat affects the results. The Ancient Calendar is very accurate...and free =). We bought an intelligender because this is our last and we wanted to have a little fun, but not taking the result to heart!

Jessica- we had luck at Walgreens but I know if you go to the Intelligender website they share a ton of retailers that sell them. It looks like a big box but its smaller. It was tucked by the pregnancy tests and the pregnancy prevention things lol.

I did the intelligender one. I did TWO and both said boy. I also had a dream that it was a boy prior to this. (They say there is some connection there too but again, i'm sure its not very reliable). The heartbeat thing didn't work with my daughter and I didn't know about the intelligender kits at that point. Idk exactly how they work, i thought maybe they could test testosterone levels in the body..beacuse if theres a boy growin it would be more than with a girl..thats my assumption anyways.

With my first pregnancy the OB told me the heartbeat was above 140 so she predicted a girl...it was a boy! With this pregnancy she said the exact same thing, so i'm assuming its another boy lol But good to know, I am searchin high and low for this thing, I can't wait until March 10th!

I thought about trying this, however we were trying to save money for the closing on our new house so we cut down on spending, and now I am 2 weeks from closing AND my ultrasound, so I'm just going to wait and find out at the doctor's office! I would be mad if I spent even $30 on a test that was wrong! I can wait another 2 weeks, it's kind of fun having playful arguments with my husband about the gender of the baby.

They used to say if the heart rate is below 140 bpm after the 12 week scan it is a bo if over iits a girl, this was used back when my fiances mum had him and his sister but nowadays they say it is not conclusive at all, but I still believe in it =)

yes I wouldnt pay that amount. In australia where I go my ultrasounds cost $160. We are already pretty certain we're having a girl because of the gender predictor and the heart rate but will be nice to have it confirmed at the ultrasound

hey how did you know it was a girl from the heart rate? you got me curious and wanna try it :D

mine said Im having a girl, they are supposed to be over 90% accurate. And there is a test that checks the x and y chromosomes in response to Krista btu it is $399 that is supposed to be 99% accurate and if they are wrong they refund the money for the testing they do the testing themselves at thier lab

Seems like an insane price to pay when you could just go get an optional ultrasound done at one of the commercial places (depending on where you live, I suppose) and do a gender check for probably less than $100. (And then you get to see the baby, to boot.)

If you're talking about the one where it tests your urine, I think they're kind of cool. I took 5 and they all came out girl. I won't find out until this baby is born, but it was still kind of cool. I consider it a possible hint.

I don't see how they can tell you the gender.....does it check for the x and y chromosomes?

I don't know how much I trust this one, but I thought it would be fun to do. You can get them at walgreens or online. They have a list of places they are sold.
