I have a chunky baby. What is the best way to keep her neck folds from getting red and irritated? I've been using baby powder, but I constantly have to reapply it. I don't want her to inhale the stuff all the time either. Thanks!

both my daughters had/have this problem, one is two and the other 3 months. With my two year old everyone told me to try corn starch ( iddnt beileve them so i didnt) but with my 3 month old I decided to give it a try and it works AMAZING! shes really chunky(she was 10lbs) and i put it on her neck after her bath if her neck seems irritated and its better by morning. :)

I had the same problem with my little girl, but I started to dry her neck everytime that she ate. After every eating they get a little bit of their formula in that little crease, so you have to constantly dry it and make sure it is dry. After I did that, ithe irritation had stopped. Hope this helps...

My older daughter had this and my new baby girl does too. The main thing is to wash it every day (which is easier said than done!) and make sure it's dry. I wash, then dry with a towel and then blow on it just to make sure it really dry. Then I apply a small amount of A&D ointment - the red went away within two days of using this. It's also easier if you have another person help i.e. one person hold up the neck folds while the other cleans, etc. If the redness persists, talk to babies doctor, though.

Have u tried just a lil bit of vasaline? or maybe a bit of baby oil? that might help, so when bubz moves his/her head then its a more free move :P and its all stuff that is gentle on the skin and dont have strong smells

I talked to my doctor about this because my daughter has the same problem.. she said to wash it with just water and to make sure it's dry when your done. Also she said either baby powder or vasaline, the baby powder however she said to put on your finger and then put it on the child. You don't want to put it directly on the child because they can inhale it and posibly get breathing problems. Hope this helps. But you might want to ask your babys doctor because it might be a yeast infection as well.
