Birth marks

I had to have suction used during the birth of my new daughter. I managed to push her out myself, eventually. She has 3 birth marks on her face, one on her eye lid, side of nose and just at the top of her nose. They say they will fade and wont be very noticable when shes older. I cant help wondering if the suction and hard birth caused these. Does anyone know what causes them?

i think they are called stork marks and they do fade. They can happen regardless of birth. My son had suction and forceps used and was covered in bruises and sores for weeks, including 2 black eyes that didnt fade until about 5 weeks! He still has a red dint on the side of his face which i'm hoping will get better.

Hi I had natural birth for both my Sons and both had little red marks on their eyes, called storkmarks, they do fade eventually. My 7 week old still has a tiny one in the corner of his eye :-)

My 2 month old has birth marks on both eye lids, between her eyes and under her nose, as well as on the back of her head and neck. She was delivered naturally, but she wasn't easy to get out. Her shoulders were stuck and the doctor really need to work her out, but no forceps were used. She was a big baby at 9lbs! I asked her pediatrician just the other day on whether or not her size or her delivery had anything to do with the amount of birth marks on her, and he said no it shouldn't have, but didn't have an explanation as to why babies have them. Just that some do get them and they eventually fade away. My 4yo was born with one between her eyes and it disappered within the first year or so. I'm hoping the same for my little one. Good luck!

Maryam...I had a very very hard and long labour with my daughter and she has the marks on her eye lids...my midwife calls them angle kisses and said that they are caused by all the preasure and what not during delivery :)

My daughter has a number of birth marks and my son had them too. He's almost 17 months now and I hardly notice them. My daughter's (2 months) birthmarks are much more noticeable. My doc said that most fade in the first year. No suction or complications at all with either child. Doc says they are very normal. The one on my daughter's eyelid almost looks like a bruise and definitely gets darker and more noticeable when she's upset. No worries!

If this helps, I had NO suction or anything and my daughter has a red birthmark on her eyelid too so I doubt its from the suction. They also said it would go away eventually. It has def already faded some :)

Are they red in colour? If they are, then yes, they'll go away eventually.
