Anyone else suffering from Cholestasis? Main symptoms are itchy palms and itchy soles of feet. I have been dealing with this since June 19th. It took until this past Tuesday to be properly tested for it.

Ladies if you are noticing these symptoms and are up all night itching like you are coming off some sort of street drug, INSIST your doc check your liver function. It's imperative they know about it as this is harmful to your baby!

Regular belly itching is not the same here. That's normal.

It's severe and concetrated to the areas I refered to, with little or no relief from creams.

Just an FYI. I had to be my own advocate to get my docs to listen to me. It took until I got to the third doctor in the practice to be taken seriously and tested. And when my tests came back "pretty elevated", I will have you know I raised a fair amount of hell over there. Respect your doctor and their medical opinons, however when it comes to your body, you know it a heck of a lot better than they do! If something is not right, assert yourself. You are paying them, remember that. It's their job to take care of you. You have rights as a patient.

If you see this, leave this form field blank.

Also I don't have a gall bladder, could this be what might be causing my problems because I had 3 normal pregnancies before my gall bladder removal. Just food for thought???

Hi I'm not actually sure if I have cholestasis or not but there is definately something going on!!!
Does cholestasis affect other parts of the body? And is there a rash?
I've thought all along that I had PUPP rash as I have been breaking out in hive symptoms. But the "hives" have been happening since day 1 of pregnancy... Every site about pregnancy rashes say that the conditions happen around the 3rd trimester, I've been itchy since day 1!
My doctor simply wants to believe it is my hyperthyroidism (over active thyroid) that is causing hives but as I am medicated for it, and my thyroid levels are normal again I can't understand why I still have skin problems.
It seems to me that I have symptoms of BOTH puppp and cholestasis...
Anyway just venting and hoping for replies from women who have had similar problems...
