Howw many moms out there did NOT co-sleep? My son was totally cribbed by the time he was 2 months old, (he only slept with me when he got up in the middle of the night and I would nurse, so it was only for a couple of hours a night) I am really curious, mostly because he is going to be a year soon, and now I am sad because he never wants to cuddle and lay with me at all. Every mother I know co-slept or co-sleeps, so I guess I am just feeling like the mean mommy. Anybody else crib there babies from the start or REALLY early?

My babies never slept in my bed - My husband and I would get up and he helped me get situated to BF both of them and then they'd go back to their cribs to sleep til the next feeding. I have three girls and two of the three are cuddly and the other (the oldest twin) is wild and crazy most of the time. All three of them were raised the same way so being cuddly is more of a personality trait. And it seems like the more you want them to be cuddly, the more they want to run and play... maybe if you give him some space he'll come to you??

My daughter slept in her pack and play since day one as well in our room. She slept with me sometime while dad was at work for naps I loved it but I never co slept partly because we only have a full size bed and it led to me not getting restful sleep and I was worried about the difficulty transitioning to sleeping by herself. She slept in our room till we were able to get our own place after a year old. I do love that she has her own room. She is now 17 months Ina toddler bed and just tonight I put her in bed and was able to leave the room before she was sleeping and she fell asleep on her own.

I let my daughter sleep with me on the couch for naps but that was it, She slept in her play pen in the room with my husband and i but never in bed with us our daughter was in her room in her baby bed by the time she was three months old. I always thought it was dangerous to have my infant laying in bed with me at night. I also was worried about how hard the habbit would have been to break if it was started.

My son was sleeping in his crib from day one. But when my husband went off to police academy for weeks at a time and our son would go to bed around 7pm and wake up around 10pm and i'd usually bring him in the bed with me and nurse him then he'd just sleep there all night with me and wake up around 7am. I really loved him sleeping next to me but he didn't get used to it, even though he did sleep better next to me. Now he only cuddles with us if he isn't feeling well. i'm glad I didn't co sleep too much because if he would have preferred that it would have been hell trying to break that habit haha

i couldn't crib my son early because of space issues. he slept in my room in a pack n play for the first 8 months of his life. when he woke up in the middle of the night i would pick him up and nurse him to sleep and i would fall asleep too. i loved waking up to him. now in his crib, i still do that. he wakes up early in the a.m and i go to get him and we go back to sleep in my bed.
with the cuddling, he only likes to cuddle with me before i put him down to sleep and that's it.
i don't think co sleeping has anything to do with a cuddly baby, it's just the personality.
