Hey ladies! I was 34 weeks when I found out I had pre-eclampcia and had to have an emergancy c-section the next day, i went into hospital because i was having a slight water leak, so i rang the NHS and they said go to hospital incase your waters have broke, doctors check but they hadnt broke but did blood tests and other tests and phoned me a few hours later and asked me to return to hospital, I didnt have a clue what it was but my partner did and he didnt want to scare me by telling me, i was so worried.. it all happened so fast! but now I have my son who was born 6/7/10 and hes the most amazing thing in the world to me and my partner :D xxx

I had it when I was 30 weeks. I felt like was fine, looked fine, I had only gained 8lb. I felt like I was getting a kidney infection so I went to the doc and y pressure was 170/120. It was actually HELLPS. THe doc never expected it and I had to deliver right away. My son was 2lb 14oz. Now he is 2 1/2 years old. I just had my daughter in July and I was considered high risk, went in every week, lots of blood work and monitoring. But I was fine and never got it, went right to my schedules c-section. It is a hit or miss. If you have it once your chance of getting it again is higher than someone who has never had it.

Maria-I have a history of chronic bladder infections and kidney infections. They did place the cath and it was so extrememly painful that I couldn't even move an inch without being in excrutiating pain. I made them remove it that I was in so much agony. The burning and stinging remained hours after they took it out. I will NEVER let a doctor cath me again... unless of course... I have had an epi already.

I had it too... After 28 weeks my blood pressure kept going up up up... I kept telling my doc about it and he was concerned and was keeping a close watch on me, but couldn't get L&D to be concerned about it. Eventually I had ALL THE SIGNS and took my husband with me to my 38w check-up because I knew something was wrong... blood pressure 160/103, was sent up to L&D immediatly and the pitocin started. We had a baby 41 hours later, July 18th.

That magnesium was NASTY! Felt like I had the flu and needed to vomit. Ugh. Then they realized they were giving me too much... after that, i felt much better. Anyone else refuse a cath before getting an epi? I refused it so they came in my room every hour to make me pee in a bed pan! SO ANNOYING!

i was almost exactly the same. i went in for my ante-natal appointment and my blood pressure was really high (140/100) so i got sent for a blood and urine check and they came back really bad as well which lead to me being diagnosed with severe pre-eclampsia. i was admitted after five hours waiting at hospital and after a few more lovely long hours and who knows how many blood pressure checks i was told i was having my daughter that night. i was only 33 1/2 weeks along.

i had it too but u woulda never guessed!! i went to all my all my doc apts and everything was fine i was working full time and school full time time so my everything below my knee would get swollen but i figured that was normal i brought it up to my doc she checked it and said it was fine i was 35 weeks went to my doc that wednesday said my blood pressure was a lil higher than usual and just wanted to keep an eye on it however that friday while i was at school my water broke went to the Hospital and once they had me all plugged and ready thats when they told me i had pre eclampsia i was completely shocked didnt even expect it. they put on magnesium and that medicine was awful i felt so drugged up couldnt even keep my eyes open i had my baby and didnt really feel in the moment but its ok cuz i ended up being fine just in all my pictures my hands look huge! haha but yea i still had her naturally and everything was fine thank God. so i heard that once you are labled a "high risk pregnancy" u will always be considered one with every pregnancy u have after is that true?? Does that mean ill have it again in the future?? Or everytime i get pregnant?? I can ask my dad cuz he''s a Doc but i wanted to kno if anyone else knew cuz they experienced it.

for me yes every pregnancy it came back. Im still dealing with my kidneys everyday and Ive been to the doctors 2 times a week since having him. they havent put me on anything yet because my docs want me to see a specialist. it definately is scary!!! how are the pills working for you so far? my right kidney is working less than 10 percent and the left is working at 10 percent. mine too are small.

I myself had pre-eclampsia with each of my children but with my last pregnancy it was the worst of all of my pregnancies. I acutally was retaining an incredible amount of fluid and my kidneys failed. My son was born 7/6/2010 by c-section and he ended up with a blood infection which had to be treated with antibiotics and now you would never know that. Hes an amazing baby.
