Just wondering if everyone's 6 month old is down to napping 2 times/day and for how long??

At 5.5 months, Khyler was napping 3 times/day totalling about 6 hours but then we went on vacation and it totally messed up his scheduale. Once we got back, his naps went almost back to normal, but I've just been noticing the last 2 days that he hasn't been able to fall asleep himself and has only been napping 2 times/day, each nap lasting about 1 hour. He's also teething so that's probably bugging him too?!??
Not sure if that's enough sleep?? He sleeps about 12-13 hours at night, sometimes straight thru or else waking after about 10 hours for a feed then goes back to sleep.

My daughter is almost six months old and she only naps twice a day for about an hour because her big sister is only 11 months older than her. so its hard for me to put her down while my oldest is running around playing. I wasn't sure if it was long enough since her big sister napped about 4 times a day for at least an hour at her age, but I guess all babies are different. :)

Naps? What are those?? My 6 1/2 month old sometimes naps for about 20 minutes to half an hour at a time. Once she even napped for two hours! Amazing! She is nothing like my oldest who at three can nap for 3 to 4 hours at a time.

My daughter is almost 6.5 months old and she is taking 2 naps a day. She gets up at 7 am, the first nap is at 9.20 am and she sleeps until 11.20 am, so two hours. The second nap is at 1.20 pm and she sleeps unitl around 3.45 pm, so a little over two hours for the second nap. She goes to bed at 7 pm, so she sleeps 12 hours at night, with one feed at 10.30 pm before I go to sleep.

My six month old Lyra naps 3 times a day. She takes a short nap in the morning, and a long nap in the afternoon, followed up by another short nap in the evening.

just for the night. i did try to nurse her, put her back to sleep. i just let her play to tire her and put her back to sleep when she got sleepy again. this does not happen every night though. this is unusual.

my 6 month old LO is napping only 2x a day..once in the morning and once in the afternoon. morning nap is about an hour to hour and a half. afternoon nap is about 2 hours. she sleeps roughly 9-10 hours. though, lately she wakes up early in the morning like 2 or 3 am to play then sleeps after 2 hours. i also wonder if this is because of teething.

my son is a week away from being 7 months old. 2 weeks ago he switched from 3 short (30-60 min) naps to 2 longer naps. he gets up around 7am and goes to bed at 7pm with one wake for a feed that i'm trying to cut out. going to sleep at night is usually pretty easy, but he's starting to fight his naps a bit. I used to put him down for a nap right after breastfeeding him, and now i'm trying to put him down without BF right before hand, so he isn't dependent on it. that might be why he's being a little more resistant to it! but i'm happy that he now has 2 naps of usually 1.5 hrs each. So he's getting 15 hrs of sleep a day, on avg.

Man you're lucky! My son doesn't sleep through the night yet so soon I'm going to make him learn by just letting himself cry back to sleep whenever he wakes up cause I think mostly right now he wakes up cause he's used to waking up every night. I'll give it another week or so though. He naps twice a day for an hour each time, some times if he doesn't get enough sleep at night though he'll sleep more.

My daughter goes to sleep around 9-10 at night, sleeps until about 8 in the morning then usually only takes one nap ranging from 1 to 3 hours then is up the rest of the time. every o nce in a while if she doesn't sleep long she will take a short nap around like 5ish. for the most part, whe falls asleep by herself. i'll go to the restroom and come back and she'll be passed out. and at nighttime it takes me about 3 minutes to get her to sleep after she eats.

"Bubba" sleeps well I think. He's 6.5 months old. We get up at 7:30 am, he eats some cereal and a fruit. 10 am he's down for an hour nap. 11:30 lunch: a dinner, veggie and fruit. 12 pm nap for 2-3 hours. 4:30 dinner: a dinner, two veggies and a fruit. 6-7 pm nap for an hour, 8 pm thick cereal bottle, immediately after bath and bed time. Goes to sleep by himself, sleeps all night with the occasional fussing because of teeth. Usually wakes up about 6 am, but will go back to sleep.

Per your son: I think he's adjusting his schedule, which is fine because he is getting enough sleep still so that is good.

most days, Tyler fights naps. he takes 1-2 naps a day, usually 2hours...first usually starts around 10am, the second (IF he stops fighting sleep) happens around 3-4pm.. he wakes up around 8am every morning, (he has an older brother) and he goes to bed by 7-8pm.

DDs naps seem to vary according to the day, but they are almost ALWAYS 30 minutes long. Some days she'll just get one (like if going to see the grandparents), some days she'll have 3.

thx natasha!
i got him back up to 3 naps/day, but they are only lasting about 1 hour each. i was just getting worried cuz he went from napping 5-6 hours/day to about 3 but he's sleeping like 15-16hours/day so he's definiately getting enough!

my son is 6 months old and is having 2x 1 hours naps and 1or2 30-45min naps... everything i have read says a baby at 6 month should be awake for 1.5-2 hours and having 3 naps a day 2 long and 1 short. all babies are different but 2 naps doesnt seem like much in the booklet i got from sleep school off a friend doesnt recommend 2 naps til 8-9 months

also at 6 months they recommend 14-15 hours of sleep in 24 hours

my little guy wakes at about 8:30 am..and naps once during the day, sometimes twice if we're in the car, for about 2 hours. He does not sleep through the night. Bedtime is 7:30 and he gets up every three hours throughout the night.
