My son used to be a great eater, then he stopped letting me feed him and became picky. I find now that he doesnt do well sitting at the table for a meal. He's more of a snacker right now. And as much as I hate it, I will make him something, and let him come to me when he is ready for a bite/spoonful. He will eat a whole meal! It can take 20-30 mins some days, but he's eating so I cant complain! Also, if your little one is drinking a lot of milk or formula, try to cut it back as it will make them hungrier. My son loves his milk and in his mind it's all he needs so i've cut him back, and he's slowly eating more.

my nephew has this problem. he only eats certain things and refuses to eat anything else.
when my sister did was just introduce him to new foods as every meal but also included one thing he liked. this opened up his food range just a bit.
he's a picky eater because he tried something and found out he liked it. you just have to go with that, keep giving him things until he finds what else he likes. also, if he doesn't like something the first time, give it a week and offer it to him again. often kids don't like something the first few times but eventually end up loving it.
