My son is 13 wks old and has Acid Reflux. Since he was born we have been using a product (simply thick) to thicken his bottles. Im considering switching to rice cereal now that he is a little older. Im wondering if anyone else has ever had to thick there feeds or used cereal to thicken?
My older 2 boys were both on cereal by the time they were 3 months but Im nervous with the acid relfuxs. He doesnt have it bad like some children but I also dont want to make it worst by added solid/food to soon
Thanks for the help

We've started putting cereal in LOs bottle at night. We normally make her 6 oz of formula and add 2 tablespoons of cereal to it. It seems to fill her up faster - she will go down after about 4 oz of this mixture whereas she would have nearly a full 8 oz bottle of formula only before she'd even think about going to bed.

My almost 4month old little girl has reflux and my dr told me to put ONE teaspoon for every ounce of milk/Formula in every bottle and it has helped her out soo much and they gave her a prescription for zantac or however you spell it for the pain because with reflux they can get heart burn! But with my first baby i gave him cereal in his bottle when he was 2months and he did fine to!

stephen has rice in his milk formula at the night times to take him through the night, he poos regulary too which is good. it hasn't harmed him at all, try it. ya'll know if it doesn't agree with them but they should be fine, just give him water aswell to make sure he doesn't get constipated :-) xx
