How long did you bleed after the birth of your child?

i think that your fine. i just had my baby a month ago and i was bleeding non stop up until about a week and a half ago. my blood started to dry up and get brown & then just completely stopped coming. That didnt last long though because less than a week later i started bleeding again & have been the past couple days. Im pretty sure its normal, just try to relax if and when you get time (i know that can be hard when you just had a new baby trust me). Hope i helped u feel better.

I just had my child a month and 4 days ago and i feel your pain girl. I bled every day and felt like i was changing my pad once every hour at least. Not that i was bleeding that much, i just hate the concept of sitting in my own blood, im sure you can relate. Well, the bleeding started to dry up and got a little brown & then just completely stopped for about five days. As of yesterday though, im bleeding again! I feel crazy & im so tired of every time i bend down or squat that i want to just run to the bathroom right after! Sorry i know my experience isnt very helpful, but hopefully at the least you can relate and know your not alone momma.

i think it depends on individuals. Personally i have two sons, and i bled for a month in each case, before it stopped completely. Well, one to two months is fine, but not furiously mostly staining, if it exceeds then consult your gynecologist.

I'm understanding it, because I have been bleeding for 2 months now, and now i'm starting to get really shakey, headaces, weakness, and getting very extremely tired. I called my dr about the bleeding and they said that it's not abnormal and all i need to do is just keep taking the birth control and it will eventually go away. And I had my son months ago. I never felt this tired after I had. What should I do?

I just had my baby 2 months ago and i stopped bleeding for maybe 3 days out of 2 months and got on the mirena and had to get it out bc i was bleeding heavy and crazy and switched to the patch and still bleeding heavy so i'm right there with you I don't know either but its really annoying and frustrating.

I'm having the same problem. This is my first child and I had him vaginally. I tore really really bad. I bleed for a month and half and then stopped for a week. And then started right back up. I figured it was my period. Well, then after my period or whatever you want to call it. I only stopped for 3 days and now I back to bleeding again. Im getting very frustrated. I don't know if it's normal or if I should be worry. I did start working again. I have been working for 4 weeks now. Can someone please help me. Should I call my doctor? What should i do?

i have been bleeding since 7 weeks this is my third baby boy,with my other 2 gals i didnt bleed this much i am going crazy wat is this can anybody plz help me out i am getting mad ...is it due to something wrong or is it nothing to worry its normal.............

c section with twins... bled for 6 weeks with somewhat heavy bleeding for 4 weeks. then period came back at 10 weeks.

I bled for just about a month... it stopped and then at 6 weeks started my period! LOL

Mine was about 2 months with my first and only a couple of weeks with my second. If it is still really really heavy and bring red I'd contact your doctor as they may be able to give you something to stop it and not lose too much iron. PS. Keep eating high iron rich foods and maybe a supplement.

With my first child (born vaginally), I bled for about 3 weeks. After my twins were born (via emergency c-section), I bled for just over a week, and after my youngest son (c-section also), I bled for about 1 1/2 weeks.
It is a possibility that you may be done bleeding from the birth and that you are having your first period. I don't know if you're breastfeeding or not, but that also makes a difference in how long you bleed after you give birth, as it stimulates your body to release a hormone causing your uterus to contract back to its "normal" shape again. I breastfed after my last 2 pregnancies and I think that may be why I didn't bleed for as long.
I know it's a pain to wear pads all the time (I hate it!), so I hope you stop soon!

With my first child i bled for 8 weeks and with my second child i bled for only 3 weeks. My friend however bled for 10 weeks with both of her children.

Hell I'm still bleeding going on 2 months now since my daughter was born, its not heavy and its not every day but its still there this is my 4th child and with my first 3 it was no longer than 6 weeks

With my first child, I had a c-section and bleed for 6mos. Not heavy but I constantly had to wear a pad. It sucked! Ended up getting a dnc and having my uterus inspected.. Come to find out, my uterus was angry.. No other explanation. After that, I was fine. With my twins, bleed only two weeks.

I bled for 5 weeks! That is with all 3 of my children. I was told it would be less with breastfeeding but I am breastfeeding my daughter and it was still the same. I did not bleed as heavily with my daughter, perhaps due to the breastfeeding but it was for just as long. Hopefully you won't have to suffer too much longer... it seems like we have to make up for the entire 9 months without a period all at once!

I didn't bleed that long with my first two, my third one I bled the whole six weeks. I asked the doctor and he said it was normal to bleed 2 to 6 weeks after giving birth. At my check up everything was fine.

i only bleed for about a week. I would suggest you talk to your doctor if you haven't already, sounds like there's something more going on.
