Hi, everyone, I was wondering what all the July 2011 babies are doing for walking. My baby starting taking steps by himself about a week ago! He stands up byhimself in the middle of the room! I have to be with him constantly cause he is still wobbly and will fall over. But he was born 7/09/2011. Everyone says its early but then everyone I talk to has had kids walk by nine months, too. I also heard some comments that babies that walk before crawling alot (he just combat crawls and has always just wanted to stand) will not develop cross communication in their brains and they will then have to crawl more later on?
This sounds kinda silly to me, but I'm not a medical pro. I am bragging alittle about him walking so early, admitted. But, really, should he be crawling more? Thank you so much have a wonder filled day with yor babies!!:)

My son was born July 19 and he pulls himself up very easily, but not without holding on to furniture. He has also started taking steps while holding on and when we are near, he always wants to hold on to us and walk, although very wobbly. I don't think it will be too long and he will walk! Very exciting!!

My girl turned ten months yesterday. She is using everything she can to walk around the house. The other day she was using her brothers chair and pushing it around the room to walk. However steps on her own have not happen yet. She can stand up on her own for about ten seconds.

My son was born 7/3/11, and he is standing on his own (though a little wobbly), he also takes steps around his play pen and toward me and such. He wants to walk so badly!

Thanks Missy!! That is incredible that your boy was walking so early:) Congratulations!! Pulling up at 2.5 months- he must be super strong! We call Evan the hulk baby cause he latches onto everything with an iron grip and carries it around:) Thanks for the encouragement

My son was born July 11th of last year, he turned 10 months yesterday. He is completetly walking on his own. He starting pulling himself up around 2.5 months then by the time he was 4 months he was walking while he was holding on to furnintures and stuff, then at 7 months i witnessed him taking his first 3 steps without holding anything. Now he walks with me around the stores and to the car without even holding my hands, everybody is shocked when they find out he is so young to be walking. My son did everything at an early age. Normally at 9 months is when a baby is starting to craw as the pediatrician told me, but it is obvious that all babies are different, SIS your baby is fine, he is just advance in that area and that does sound silly that someone would make such comments. I know babies who skipped crawling all together and went straight to walking and they turned out fine. your baby is fine, don't stress it and just encourage him to walk with out pusing to much. Enjoy the fact that he is that adance. That only means he has a greater chance of being advance in everything else...(Very smart). Your doing a great job keep it up Sis!

My son (born 18 July 2011) will pull himself up and cruise to his hearts content. He tries to stand but it doesn't last long. Anytime between now and 13 months I think is the normal time frame. Good luck keeping up with him!

THank you everyone!! He is such a sweetheart. I bought some Walking Wings. They work pretty good, but he twists around sometimes. They help my back since bending over to hold his little hands can all day long can ACHE;) He is walking across the room now, but still a weeble wobble. Good to know that everyone is walking and standing! He also LOVES his walker and keeps trying to catch cars!!

my son was born a day before yours and he cruises around great crawling, and walks around the coffee table holding on and loves to stand up and pull up however never on his own, thank goodness yet. He is still really wobbly and loves to try things he shouldn't. I have a four year old baby girl that he sees doing all this stuff and I think he is way further along than she was at this age, but they your second is more into everything and wants to do what the first one does so who knows. It is great that your little man is up and trying to stand on his own... the cross communication thing sounds a bit weird to me. My pediatrician said every baby is different and many walk before they crawl and this is not abnormal and should not be looked at as "different". I wouldn't be considered in the least. He just seems like an eager beaver and you may have your hands full very soon! Have fun and cherish each and every second the time just flies by!!

My second daughter was born on 06/07/2011and she has started walking since her
9 months but my 1stdaugter walked in her 10months.
I believe when the time comes they will do it on their own.Because when she did not crawl on her 6 months,l was a little bit worried but she only crawled from her 7 months and did it for just 1 month. After that she started standing and wobbling for few weeks before her 9 months. In her 9 months she started walking properly..."cheers

My son Gabriel was born 07/31/11, he took his first steps (4 in a row!) in April 2012 at 8 1/2 months old. He's been taking one or two steps without holding on in his play pen for while but these were outside the playpen in our living room :)

Hi, my daughter Zoe was born 7/6/11 and she took her first steps last month, she did crawl at 5 months and now that she is walking she won't crawl as much, she wants to attempt to walk everywhere! I have a son who is 3 and he walked at 9 months so definitely not too early, I would say an overachiever! Hehe.. I say don't worry about the crawling, some children skip it. Good luck and happy walking :)

My baby was born 6th July 2011. He's not walking yet, can pull himself up unto anything but has refused to take any steps. My first 2 babies walked early, he is different but I'm not worried, just enjoying his own development as it goes and not worrying myself by comparing to other babies. Congrats to your baby; i will definitely brag a lot too if my baby had walked that early :).

My daughter isn't walking yet, she stands on her own for about a minute and is pulling herself up onto everything, also she walks with hands and behind her little car, but she is a professional crawler lol!! I figure she will be walking in a couple weeks to a month give or take. My oldest was walking at 9 months and my middle was walking at 13 months. So I think it has to do a lot with the individual child.

Well my daughter was born July 04 2011 and she started walking a week ago! she started with a few steps on a Thursday with a lot of excitement and that was it. she's been walking for a full week now and she is getting stronger with each other step that she makes. my elder son too walked early but there was no any more crawling later on.... so kids are different if your son is ready for walking now, he will do it even when u try not to cheer him on. talk to your GP though and get a medical point of view.

Hi Sis,

My daughter was born on July 4, 2011 she walks assisted and stands up holding onto things. A few times we have caught her standing in the middle of her playpen for maybe a few seconds at a time, but has not walked on her own.. she still purposely goes down on her butt instead of standing for more than a few minutes.

HI Stacey- Evan started out just standing and it didn't take him long to walk after that. Good luck with your baby! You are right it probably just depends on the baby. I won't worry about him not crawling. Thanks!

My son was born July 1, 2011 and he will only stand. He will not move his feet to take any steps. My 4 year old started walking at 8 months and he totally skipped crawling. So all babies are different. Congrats to your baby :-)
