I had my baby girl on June 16. I have heard that breastfeeding will help you lose your baby weight. I have lost some of the weight but im still 20 pounds away from my pre baby weight. I am trying to eat enough to make sure I have enough milk for her but also trying to not to eat to much. Im just getting frustrated because a lot of people I meet say they lost the weight within a month :( Am I the only one having trouble with this?

With my daughter it took 6 months to be back to normal. With son was less time. about 4. And this time...holy wow, I had my daughter june 17th and am just about 5 pounds more than pre-Charlotte. I just don't drink pop anymore. I think the sugar or something made me keep more with my first baby. I felt like i needed something to stay awake with her all day and hated coffee at the time. I do drink coffee now. lol. I have three kids. I have to do something to perk up my head in the morning! Don't worry, once you start stepping over baby gates the leg lifts from that are awesome. extra laundry up and down stairs helps. And good posture. I swear by that for tummy. Had an older lady tell me that and i thought she was full of it..but seems to be true.

Just keep eating healthy. Eat tons, but eat healthy. I have faith that it'll all come off for you. [Although, I was hoping to keep my boobs and my ass this time. We'll see! :) ]

Hey Ladies!

Are you looking to get healthy, lose weight, improve your energy? Sounds great, right?

Let me tell you a little background on how I got here. My husband and I started the program in May of 2013. We were truly shocked at how easy this was and amazed by our results! I lost 20lbs in two months, and he lost 40lbs in 3.5 months.

If the pounds weren't enough to make me thrilled, loosing 4 inches in my butt and hips had me ecstatic! haha. The best part is we haven't gained it back. Our view on food is different and we are more active.

It was so incredibly easy to keep on board with the program. There is less than 5 min. prep time for the food, some are just open and go! I loved that I could toss a snack in my purse and not rely on finding a "healthy choice" on the go. Not to mention, cooking once a day was a nice break.

Well, one thing leads to another and I decided to be a health coach through Take Shape For Life after I did the program. I want to help others create a healthy lifestyle that is sustainable. I've included my website in case you want to reference it at a later time.

You can see all of the meal options, read more about what this program is and what it entails at the website below. Stop by my facebook page and feel free to email me any questions. I am completely honest and open and want to help you reach your goals. Did I mention my health coaching service is free?!!!!

Thanks, Kristin

eating more is a myth when a baby cries is when you will produce more studies have shown, but you do still need healthy diet i had my daughter 6 years ago i am not going to get back down to my 50kgs that i was i put on 40 while pregnant (everyone telling me i was eating for 2) so NO you defiantly not the only one having trouble with it, fluid is a big one also that gets mistaken for weight going for walks helps with that and makes you mentally feel good aswel :)

It took me 2 years with my 1st and I still wasn't completely at pre pregnancy weight. I lost 20 lb. after my 2nd and gained it all back and then some. It's hard to work on yourself when you are busy with kids and everything else. Don't be hard on yourself. It really stinks, but it shows that you focus more on your kids than just yourself. Keep it up! =)

with my first it took almost a year and a half to lose all the weight, (i gained about 40lbs) what i started doing was not eating anything after dinner that wasn't a fresh fruit or vegatable and nothing about an hour and a half before i went to bed and that really helped me lose that last bit of weight,

Those breastfeeding don't worry too much (I know easier said than done) about that last 10 pounds or so you have to retain some fat supply for your milk and will drop even more weight when you wean your baby at least I did all of the three times I bf and I'll be 40 in 22 days and I have a 6 week old little girl, I've lost all but that last 7 to 10 pounds... guess I'll be stuck with it til she's around 2.

I gained a total of 12 pounds during my pregnancy - I have been overweight for some time now. 4 weeks after I came home, I was down to that number. 3 months later, I'm right back up there. I am frustrated as well.
I know that any exercise is better than none, so I walk the dogs with my hubby and baby to get moving. My hubby has been walking them alone for the last 3 months. Good luck and don't be so hard on yourself. Right now, your job is to be your baby's mommy - not the sexy woman our society thinks you should be.

I had my baby July 16 th and I have 9 pounds left to lose. I did pre-natal yoga throughout my whole pregnancy which I think helped me alot. Once I received clearance from my doctor, due to c-section, I started slowly doing yoga again. I found a DVD for weight loss yoga ( from the biggest loser guy on tv) and it has worked miracles in just A few months. Good luck to you i know it's hard but with determination and support you will definately achieve your goal!!! Xxx

Nope, it's very frustrating too......trying really hard now. I had my baby in July, lost 30lbs. Since then nothing more. So to lose the remaining 30, am doing same as you: eating just enough for baby's milk.

If you don't excercise, it can take up to 2 years to get back to your pre-baby weight. I had mine on the 18th of July and I lost like 20 lbs but I'm still FAR from my pre-baby weight. This baby number 2 for me...so it could be harder for me.

I had twins at 38.5 weeks via c-section on 07/24/2011. I could not breastfeed with complications. I gained close to 60 lbs. I'm 5'2". Starting weight an average 123 lbs and gained to approx. 180 lbs. In 5 weeks, i was at 145 lbs with no effort, but since then it's been a struggle. At 12 weeks, I'm at 138 lbs and still have 15 lbs to lose. I try to work out and control portion size with healthy eating, but weight is not budging. :(

Here is a great way to loose weight... Before I got PG this time around I lost over 60 pounds and obviously got PG. The way I lost the weight was by doing the HCG diet over one year ... Not only did I loose weight, but I lose inches in places I never could before. I am currently on the diet and have lost 13 pounds in just over 1 week. Check out www.diyhcg.com. It is safe, as long as you are not breastfeeding. Good luck Ladies:)

Dont worry about the eating too much though.. thats just stress you dont need. dont eat less but eat healthier.

And GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!

I had my son on June 19th; I haven't lost all the weight yet, either, but I gained about 60lbs throughout my pregnancy (I was underweight, before hand). I dropped 35lbs in the first 6 weeks simply from breast feeding. The rest is coming off a little more slowly - it took 9 months to put on the weight, I expect it to take longer to lose...gaining weight is much easier to do than shedding the pounds! You only have to increase your caloric intake by about 500 calories when you're breastfeeding. Just monitor your intake and make sure you're getting exercise. Don't stress too much about losing weight quickly, as long as you lose the weight in the long run and you're keeping a healthy lifestyle in the meantime, you're okay! I know we desperately want to flip a switch and go back to our pre-pregnancy size; but, unfortunately, it's just a little harder than that lol.

You're definitely not the only one having trouble! I've always been horribly skinny and since I started having kids I have gained so much weight and it sticks! I'm just trying to eat healthy and exercise and wait until I'm done breastfeeding to truly focus on all of the weightloss.

i'm having trouble with this as well. my 3rd son was born on 9th June and i haven't lost anything :( i'm going to start doing an exercise dvd when kids are asleep. big hug for you.xxx

[deleted account]

try a diabetic meal planning. eat under 50 carbs at a meal. 3 meals a day with 3 snacks inbetween. drink half your weight in water. exercise when able to with the baby.
i had my second child on the 21 of june this year. he strolls along with me for 3 miles 4 times a week. hes great company to have. i still havent lost everything i want to but hes gained 3 pounds the first and second months. my birth control Meriena is not letting me lose as much as fast as i want. the diabitis counsler said one tto two lbs a week is comfortable with any human being. just stay away from the what i call YOU KNOW WHATS... the stuff you know you shouldnt have. so dont give in all the time.
really try to portion your food. thats ultimately the best way i know how to do it. girl work it out. your baby will be running circles around you by christmas and you will be ready! much love

I had my daughter June 24th and have 20 pounds to lose still. I has a c-section so just got clearance two weeks ago to start working out but my doctor told me to slowly work into excersizing my abs. Which is where all of my weight is - the mid section, butt, hips, waist, ugh. I am very discouraged because I don't fit in ANYTHING that I have. My sister had to give me a couple of pants and shirts just so I don't look ridiculous. So its not you, its all of us! Ha

Hi Lisa,
This is coming from a Weight Loss Coach and someone that also had a baby June 30th. Everyone is different, some will lose it faster and others a lot slower. I wouldn't even worry about it for the first year. Continue your breastfeeding and having enough food to keep your energy levels up that is healthy and nutritious.

I don't want to tell you about how I am going because I bounced back after both my kids in super record time, even faster than celebrities do - I put that down to being blessed with some great genes since my body has also managed not to inherit any stretchmarks after 2 pregnancies.

Finally I truly believe it is very important what you do during your pregnancy and the foods you are having, were you active, ate well and not for 2 like they say?

Enjoy your baby and give it more time to bounce back - after all the weight took 9 months to get there, give at least 9 to come off. All the best.

My little girl was born june 16th too and I havent really lost much weight, with my son I was back in size 8 in 2 months which is odd coz all I did was sit around. Now im running round after a toddler you'd think the weight would just fall off but apparently not! Just eat right, exercise and drink plenty of water or fruit juice and it will come off soon x

You are certainly not alone! My son was born June 9 and I am still having trouble buttoning up my pre-preggers pants! I carried him a lot lower than my daughter and I find that lower extra weight/skin is hard to target with exercise. With my daughter, everything just kind of snapped back into place... It's also hard to find the time to exercise with a 3yo and a 2mo! I am mostly just hopping on the eliptical when my daughter is finally in bed and my hub is home to care for the boy. Needless to say, many nights the TV and a glass of wine win! Nonetheless - and I am learning this daily - be patient w/ your body and try to appreciate it and love it (stretch marks and all!) for the miracle it performed in bringing new life into the world! Good luck ... all things in good time...

You are definitely not the only one! I had my baby on June 15th and I'm still about 20 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight too. I have two kids now, both under the age of 2, so I don't really have the time to eat as healthy as I would like to. What I have been trying to do is make a salad the night before (after the kids go to bed) and then eat it for lunch the next day. I have also cut back on soda and things that are high in sugar and fats. Try to find a few minutes to work out when you can too. For me this is a HUGE challenge!! So what I try to do is work out while I'm in the shower. This may sound kinda weird, but it's the only time that I have. My best advice is to mainly just make sure that you're eating healthy and don't over indulge. Also, don't worry too much about your baby weight yet. Give yourself some time to get settled into a routine. Once you've done that, it should be a lot easier to manage your weight loss.

I had my daughter on June 14th, a few days before you. I gained 15 lbs my total pregnancy but was 25 lbs too heavy before conception. I am breastfeeding. I had a cesarean. I JUST started exercising YESTERDAY. I did incorporate binding my body in recovery at the hospital after birth. I continued binding until now. 9 weeks so far and I am HAPPY with what my body has been able to do. It has not been easy and I don't compare myself with other women. We are not the same.

I eat ALOT! 5-6 times a day of small fresh produce type snacks incorporated with full meals. I am currently eating healthy with no beef or pork. Drinking tons of water and eating lots of dark, leafy veggies. I am also taking a multi-vitamin. Nothing fancy, just a store brand multi for women's health. I am drinking both regular and soy milk daily as I need the calcium for my bones. That reflexin hormone did a number on my hips/pelvic area. I'm a lot wider. Lol!

I found yoga to be my best ease into exercise due to the cesarean. Yogatic's YouTube channel has the best beginners vids. I've lost 5 lbs since her birth due to eating healthy, house chores and breastfeeding.

Don't listen and compare your weight loss to other women. Losing all their weight in a month? I hardly think so! Even with vaginal delivery, who is actually able to recover fully enough to drop weight outside of baby & afterbirth? Every woman has pain and isn't popping up doing a bunch after giving birth. I don't believe it when I read those posts. They are not realistic.

Keep eating healthy like the other moms before my post advised and ease into doing exercises. Drink lots of water & incorporate fiber to keep intestines clean for better mineral/vitamin from food absorption. All of these things help. Don't stress over it too much as that adds anxiety then low self-esteem. We all struggle with how we look after having our beautiful babies, just don't compare yourself to others. Look at yourself and LOVE YOU! *^,^*

I had a baby June 7th and I have lost 25 pounds and I am still 20 pounds away from normal weight. I went shopping last night and I think it was too soon. With my daughter around 4-5 months I was a lot thinner. Back to normal around 6 months. My mom always says, "It takes 9 months to get there, give yourself 9 months to get back!" Dont worry about other people just enjoy your baby and make sure you eat healthy and go walking/excersizing when you can. Me personally I have been so pooped and due to my c-section I just got clearance to work out but I am still soo sleepy! I figure by Halloween I should be closer to normal. Dont be to hard on yourself! You have a 2 month old!!!!
