has anyone been experiencing depression during their pregnancy. right now my life is very stressful. I am 21 and will be 22 in april. i have a 2 year old daughter that wants nothing to do with me. my father in law has to trick her into my car when i pick her up after work. my husband works nights and i work days so we only see eachother one day a week. i work at a animal shelter and lately it seems like i am putting more animals to sleep then normal. ive been feeling very sad lately and am having a hard tiime sleeping and sometimes cry on my way home from work. the little bit i see my husband it seems like we argue most of the time. i cant remember the last time that i was happy and have very few friends but i never get to see them and barely talk to them. so i have no one clost to me to ask for advise. is anyone experiencing anything like this or has any advise.

I'm sorry that you're experiencing this =( Maybe try to catch a day that you and your hubby don't work that you two can spend some quality family time together?

Situation wise, I'm pretty much in the same situation...I'm 21, will be 22 in April; my husband works nights, and is usually sleeping all day when he's not working. So even as a stay at home mom, I don't get a lot of time with him because I'm awake during the day taking care of our 16 month old. That being said, my daughter is absolutely attached to my hip...I guess I feel a bit opposite as you, and would love to have a night every once in a while away from her, but I also love her to death and wouldn't have her attached any other way...

Trying to be the strong person who holds everything on their shoulders, I tend to have mental break downs every once in a while, and end up crying. Afterwords, I feel good enough to start all over again until the next break down. I also don't have a lot of 'friends' outside of the house, per say, but then again, a lot of my friends aren't parents, and that's who I connect most with is other parents.

Anyways...like I said, family time...and if not, if you think that it's bad enough to warrant it, there are some depression medications out there that are safe to take while pregnant...that may be something to discuss with your doctor?

Other than that, the moms on here are wonderful in many ways and I would be willing to take bets that they'd be happy to chat with you whenever you'd like =) If you need to talk or anything, I'm more than willing to chat at any time! I spend a lot of time on the computer when I'm not spending time with my daughter because I take online classes.

Hope you feel better soon!
